Timbo over Mammoth boys surprised me a little bit.  I know Timbo had some good players but Mammoth Spring has gradually gone down hill the past five years and can't seem to win a close one.  This gives Maynard a little hope this year.

Just haven't been to a state tourney and have come up short in the Regional. And to add haven't lost to Maynard since Nov 2014. Lol Timbo will win a bunch of games this year

Sorry I am only counting years since 2014.  Counting this year that will be five seasons.  Mammoth has had lots of regular season wins only to go THUD in the postseason in the past four years. I just remember their good seasons WHEN they did win in regionals and state tournaments before 2013 and 2014.  This year's team is far less talented than the past four years and all Mammoth has to show for those four years is an 0-2 record in regionals. OUCH! From what I hear, Hillcrest was impressive last night against Mount Vernon-Enola and they are the clear favorite in the conference by a country mile.  The other teams including Mammoth and Maynard are going to be road kill in the regional for the other conference's big four of ICC, Western Grove, Calico Rock, and Omaha.  Hillcrest will be lucky to beat any of them too.  My point was in the last post was not that Maynard was good but that Mammoth was not very good either.

Calico Rock has been to state two or three times in last five years and they are a contender every year.  Also, Hillcrest and Calico also were the last teams to get a piece of the conference title besides ICC in 2014 while Mammoth and Hillcrest were in that conference. ICC I think has won the last 4 conference titles plus shared in 2014. No Mammoth Spring senior high championships or state tournament appearances  since Cude left. From what I hear, Western Grove is very good too and Omaha is always good.  Maynard is not very good but outside of Hillcrest neither is anyone else in the East. Playing in the Midland Tourney doesn't get you ready for postseason play evidently.  I have no ill will toward the Bears but they are closer to Maynard level basketball than state tourney level.  Good luck!  I hope I am wrong and the East conference dominates in the regional but I don't see it happening.
