I hate the six-conference setup in 2A through 4A. Uneven number of teams in a playoff bracket, so that means two byes that are awarded at random to conference winners. Also, cramming 8 teams into a district stretches out the required travel more, believe it or not.
Having eight conferences of 6 teams each will equalize the bracket by restoring the 4x8 format. It won't water down the playoffs much more than it already is since it only adds 2 teams back. It will cut down on conference travel, and while it will mean more non-conference games, most teams have neighboring rivals to schedule. I think the pros outweigh the cons.
