You could really see it at the end. Hackett was neck and neck and even lead Danville in the 3rd quarter. We just ran out of steam. Danville is a good team, Madding is a very good QB. Have a safe trip home Danville

First Hackett game I've been to this season. I've seen Danville play once. This game was a good one, Hackett is a lot better then I thought they would be. Hackett had several chances in this game to take over, and possibly win. I was speaking with a Hackett fan tonight and he told me that Hackett has several sophomores on the field and it showed a little bit. There isn't anything wrong with that, when you are young sometimes big games get the best of you, and thats football for you. Hackett scored to go up on Danville late in the 3rd and then recovered a fumble on the ensuing kick off. Had Hackett taken the ball down on that drive and scored I think we would be talking about a different winner here. Kudos to Danville for staying in tough in that momentum swing and taking back over. Both of these teams are top 10 material, Danville is a little bit better on the offensive side. Madding is an excellent athlete. Hackett did a good job of containing him for the most part, but anytime he got daylight it was bad news for the Hornets. Sophomore receiver Hester is a stud, that kid is really going to blossom next couple of years. Danville hard a really hard time covering him. These two teams are good, interested to follow them as the season goes on

First time Danville has trailed all season in a game

Tough game! I was not sure if the Little Johns could come back after getting behind in the second half. However, this Little John team is a little different from some teams in the past. They never hung their heads and retook the lead. Still there were many mistakes and they need t be worked on. Getting in the red zone three times and not getting points, don't know if it was a lack execution or just the good play of the hornets. Gotts say this...Hackett came to play. They give it everything they had. Believe that they just ran out of gas in the end. Also, their quarterback exposed Danville's main weakness, Danville's pass defense NEEDS work. A good quarterback like tonight really exposed that. But, you came thru when it counted. Your a young team with mostly 10th graders and you going to keep getting better. That's the good news. On the flip side, the playoffs are just around the corner and the mistakes with the secondary will have to be addressed. Continued success the rest of the season Little Johns!! And good luck Hackett on the rest of your season as well.
