Class 5A Bulletin Board Material / Re: Farmington openLast post by DerekOxford - Today at 04:06:15 pmI'm sure the list of applicants would be a lot longer if it wasn't this late in the game. It's almost May. Spring football has already started at most, if not all places.
If I had to guess, they will name Moreland the interim and let him have a prove-it 2024. If it doesn't go well, they'll open it back up after the season. 2

That's also just offensive to Brad Bolding. Dude is one of the best coaches in the state, have some respect. I gotta admit, that post did give me a good laugh? Bolding? yeah right. Some fans have lost touch with reality. Let me guess, Saban, Belichick and Sean McVay have all expressed interest. 3
Class 4A Bulletin Board Material / Re: The NEW 7-4ALast post by beach bum - Today at 03:51:20 pmQuote from: beaverfan007 on Today at 02:32:06 pmbauxite is going to be knocking on the door of winning the state championship Bauxite is the team I see with the highest upside of anyone in 4A outside of the usual contenders we think of in 4A. If they just play average defense they go into that category of top 5 ish teams potentially. I view them and CAC the same. They don't even need great defense. They just need to be better and if they are then look out for those teams. I am probably picking the Miners way too low there at 4th in the 7-4A. I'm leaning 3rd now at absolute worst. Maybe 2nd 4
Class 6A Bulletin Board Material / Re: GW move inLast post by Pr8hd - Today at 03:50:27 pmQuote from: we_hate_the_band on April 25, 2024, 11:26:17 amHeard they may be getting a move in on the defensive side of the ball. As mentioned, lots of holes and question marks on this side, so not a shocker if so. Plenty of spots there waiting for current kids to step up or perhaps someone to move into. 5

I'd think Brad Bolding would throw his name in the pot, and I'd be willing to bet this job draws a ton of other applicants. That might be the stupidest thing I've ever heard. That's also just offensive to Brad Bolding. Dude is one of the best coaches in the state, have some respect. 6

I have known parents who relocated to specific schools because of their success in a particular sport. In full confession, we live in Bonanza/Hackett area. Moved out of GW in 2021 for a bigger house on a private lake area. My youngest school choices to GW because he went there until 7th grade...he'sa Soph/going to be Jr now . Me, my wife, and 2 oldest kids are GW grads and we only bought here because we could do that in the covenants and school choice. In my neighborhood here, kids go to Hackett (which is in their district), NS, SS, GW, etc. We chose to send my youngest back to GW because better school, better sports/better competition mostly, better facilities/coaches generally, levels of success in football mostly and most importantly, all his friends were there he's been around/played with since 3-4 years old and it's where he wanted to go. 7

Outstanding. 9
Class 6A Bulletin Board Material / Re: GW move inLast post by Pr8hd - Today at 03:26:07 pmQuote from: AT on April 25, 2024, 10:33:38 amShould be mentioned that Greenwood loses a fair share of kids to Hackett every year. Some would say those kids aren't going to play for the Bulldogs, but that is not always the case. Some just do not want to wait behind upperclassmen. These are good points. It also works vice versa too.... upperclassmen don't appreciate being replaced by freshmen or sophomores and see the writing on the wall in those scenarios as well. This is part of the reason why GW lost QB's to Mansfield and Elkins. It should be mentioned seen Alma, VB, GW, NS, SS all lose kids to each other as well as the smaller surronding schools. Transfer portal is alive and well in AAA these days. 10
Class 5A Bulletin Board Material / Re: Farmington openLast post by JessieP - Today at 03:23:31 pmI'll admit I'm not at all versed in Farmington, know nothing about them. It seems like they are the Valley View of the West, meaning a ton of hype with zero results. We have seen dozens of "watch out for Farmington", "This is Farmington's year", "Farmington os going to shock people this year, they are up and coming" type posts. The pattern seems to be that Farmington enters September like Lions but leave November like kittens.
It's all moot anyway, this is Valley View's year. No seriously, this is their year, they aren't kidding this time. VV is WMS bound, stop laughing we really mean it this year. |
