Just got off the phone with some of the family of Zach Towers and folks, it's not good. Don't want to put too much out there, but they are telling the family the worst. Please continue to pray for a miracle for this family.
Dear Jesus, be with this family.
Championships mean nothing when it comes to the safety and well being of our kids. As much as I love the game of football the safety of my 3 boys and every other kid playing mean more to me. Pray for this family likebyouve never prayed before.

Again, I don't want to tell something that is not absolutely true, but only prayer will help this family at this time. Vitals are good, but he is on a vent. No odds were given to the family that he will wake up. He sustained a major rupture in a vein on his brain and only time will tell if he wakes up and what condition he will be in. We are not sure what happened, or if its even football related at this time. Please continue to pray for the family as this is their worst nightmare.
Man, I am just devastated for them.
Continual prayers.

What happened to him last night exactly?
From what I could tell, he made a tackle, got up and right before the next play he went down on the field. All downhill after that. We don't even know if it was football "hit" related right now. More than likely a hit triggered the problem but it wasn't like it was some monster collision or anything, completely normal from what I could tell. Just terrible.

Most likely goes back to that pre-exsisting condition you were talking about. This is horrible. My facebook has blown up about this too and the news just keeps sounding worse. Really hope the young man can come out of this and recover. One of the best games of the year has turned into an absolute nightmare. To Towers, his family, and all of SC, we're all with you and praying for the best.
Prayers for the family and may God heal this young man speedily...........
3John 2.............Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
I hate to get on here and discuss this but I know there are a lot of people worried about him, so I will be short and to the point.
They had to remove a blood clot from his head, and he is now in an induced coma. The only thing they can do now is to wait for the brain to heal. Nothing else medically they can do for him, from what i have been told.
Its up to the man upstairs at this point.
It's a horrible tragedy and nothing I've heard has been to promising. Prayers go out to him and his family.

I just got home from jrmc. Zack does have some brain activity and there has not been any new bleeding. He is still in very serious condition and we need to continue to pray. The photo of the entire star city high school gathering to say a prayer for Zack is awesome..

That picture of the bulldogs prayer together is powerful.
It's easy to stray sometimes from our biblical foundations and Lord knows I am guilty at times. But when we need our heavenly father it's amazing to me how our teachings from childhood come right back. A family that prays together stays together.
Real men love Jesus folks. And those kids knelt down in prayer in blue is one powerful picture.

I love this game. Football teaches us so many lessons, if we will only pay atention. The only process that teaches us more about life is life itself. Again, we are all learning, remembering what is most important. We had a special time of prayer for Zach this morning in our service. I had a man in our church come forward to stand in for Zach. Three years ago this man was on the way to pick his wife up from her job and he had a massive stroke while driving and crashed the car. He was unconscious and had little to no brain activity for several days. He was over three months in the VA at Little Rock. The Drs said it was hopeless. They were wrong. He is a walking miracle. Believing the same thing for Zach.
First Baptist Church Crossett pastor Jamie Staley called for a special prayer time for Zach by calling members of the Crossett Eagle football team to the alter and had the church pray around them. This was a very touching time and prayers will continue for Zach, his family and all the communities involved.
Zack would be proud guys. Miracles do happen, and I pray one takes place in Zack's life as well.
Had our youth Sunday school class form a prayer circle for Zack and the Towers family this morning. Still praying for him and his family.
Abundant Life Worship Center in Dumas also had special prayer for Zack this morning. God is bigger
CP God does miracles, Zack is in the best place he can be now. I've seen others talk about miracles and I have witnessed them myself. A friend of mine was in a plane crash a few years back. He hit the ground inverted at 150MPH. There is less than 1% survival rate for that. He his flying again and going strong. No other reason for him to be here other than its the Lord's will and the power of prayer. Keep the faith and keep praying.
Latest update is zack's fever is down, blood pressure is good, and there is some brain activity. As of now he is still on full life support and we will know more soon when they get him hooked on the constant brain scanning monitor (not sure what it's called). Will keep you posted.
We prayed for zack at church this morning. God is in the healing business. This reminds me of when I was a senior in high school a few years ago about the same thing happend to a young man on the team except it was at practice, come to find out he had a brain aneurysm and didn't have much hope of making it but he is alive and doing good and going to college. God can heal zack as he had healed my buddy we just got to believe and have faith in him that he will. I know God can, you got many people arcoss the state bring for you zack and your family and friends, get better man. God Bless you and your family and everyone.
Let's keep this guy lifted up today. He deserves it!

I'm thinking the constant brain monitor will be an EEG with video. Be my guess.
Looks like the Lord is working hard as well as our prayers today. Zack is also fighting hard.
I prayed hard in church today and I will keep it up.
I was told that both Warren and Crossett will be wearing the number 16 on there helmets for there next game to show support for Zack . As a friend of the Towers family i would like to thank both teams for doing so . I would also like to thank the churches and thousands of people that are praying for Zack. The prayers and support has been awesome. Please continue to pray for Zack and his family. Thanks everbody..
Prayers are with and going up for this young man from the Crossett Community, Crossett Eagle Football players, Crossett Eagle Marching Band and the Crossett School Administration Office. Those listed above have also gotten together and sent a care package and cards for Zack and his family to show the sincere concerns and love we have for Zack. God bless this young man and his family, Lord please give them comfort and peace during this time.

From what I heard, Zack's transfer from JRMC to Children's Hospital was successful. I'm fully confident that he'll pull through from this. Continued prayers from Fort Smith.

I hate giving bad news but I know many are getting there info from here. My brother has been with Zack the past few days and the latest information he has given me is there is very little brain activity right now and the Doctors said they cannot do anything else. He needs a miracle, and I pray we see one.

This is awesome. Star City also has big plans honoring Zack Friday night. Going to be cool.
I know we bicker, argue, and what not especially on here during football season, especially 8-4A teams. However, in the end all of us down here are one big family and we support each other in times of need. Zack may play for a different team, but he's still getting support and prayers from neighboring towns and much more! Dang proud to wear #16 on my shirt Friday night during our broadcast of the Warren game.

I am seriously proud to say that I am from an 8-4A town. We may fight and bicker on the boards and the field, but we stick together through thick and thin. I'm truly proud of our communities pulling together like this.
Seark is a wonderful place. We stick together when it counts. Go 8-4a!
We are going to do big things in the playoffs for Zack!
Im from 3/4A. A dad of a Sr. High player. Our kids health and happiness is most important. I want to win but our kids are our lives. I support Zack and all the teams that show so much support. We should all be happy of Arkansas Highschool Football and how we stick together.
god bless
We had a prior Scrapper that was hazed not to long ago.Was not sure he would pull through.... Prayers lifted him up and the staff at Children's Hospital and the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ brought this young man back stronger than before.. Zack we are sending prayer's for you just as much. Don't know you but our Lord Jesus does and prayers are still with you and the angels are there watching over you... God speedy recovery.....
I have a 9 year old daughter who looks up to every High School Football player as if they are in the NFL. During Sr. night in Star City Thursday, she watched as Zach Towers and Zach House were introduced and walked across the field together as Sr's. When she heard us talking about the injury to Zach, she immediately remembered him walking across the field with Zach House. My 9 year old has continually prayed since Thursday night for Zach to be healed. This kid is turning into a prayer warrior and tells everybody she sees to pray for Zach. There is power in prayer!!!!

Talked to Jim, Zack's dad earlier, and he stated that Zack is continuing to move, especially during breathing treatments. He also moved his hand while Jim was holding it and talking to him. Keep fighting Zack!

I am so glad to hear that Zack is making progress. This shows that when people come together for a common goal and pray together it can and will be conquered.

Sorry I didn't give an update yesterday.. But Zack is still about the same.. We did move to another room in ICU today with 2 walls of windows... Which is wonderful! He is still moving his arms a little. His temp had gone down but has come back up this pm as well as his blood sugar.. Changing type of formula that they're giving him and increasing insulin. Just a few minor adjustments.. We still have faith that God is going to completely heal Zack.. He is just waiting on the perfect time! Keep praying and believing in Gods healing power!!
A lot of great images coming in.

Had a conversation with Jim on the phone tonight. God is continuing to work miracles and he is placing his arms around Zack everyday. Had some improvements today and even some new developments that was great news. Spirits are high in the Towers house.
To quote Jim, "We are about to move this mountain...Pebble by pebble if we have to."
Keep up the prayers everyone! God is great and amazing.
Thanks for the update. Keep up the good fight Zack and everyone

Its 12 41am and im up with Zack. For the first time an hour ago Zacks right eye was responsive to light!!!!!!! What a HUGE blessing this is!! All praise and glory is to our loving God!! It was just one eye and it was faint but 2 nurses verified this. Baby steps..... But man will we take em!! Zack has already done things that he isnt suppose to do..... But i KNOW that its God working on and thru my son. Here is how God is at work on him....He continues to move his limbs at times.....when he is not suppose to....he coughs and has a gag reflex..... When he is not suppose to.....he has reacted to pain stimulus (iv being inserted)......when hes not suppose to. And now tonight his right is responsive faintly to light......when its not suppose to. Keep the prayers coming with strong faith that Zack will be home soon. God is working a miracle right before our very eyes. Im excited about what God is going to do next. There has been so much support for Zack, there are reports of people being saved, old relationships being made new, and a huge refocus on whats really important in life. And God chose Zack to deliver Gods message to all who has prayed for him and has kept up with this situation...... God moves in mysterious ways but he always loves us and cares for us greatly and he never leaves us! So now i understand how it was Gods will for Zack to be on that field last Thursday night. My son has been used.... Hand picked by God to reach thousands. The holy spirit surounds us daily and God is present here with us. God is so good!!! God reminds us that if we pray in the name of Jesus with true and strong faith, that NOTHING is to big for God.....i have the strongest faith that this miracle named Zack will be home soon....and all the glory will be Gods. So keep praying, just keep praying. Gods got this!!

I read this post and was very touched.
Then.....I read it out loud to my wife (we have two kids, one who is Zack's age) and as I struggled to read it without choking up my wife began to wipe her tears away. We love our children, but that experience gave us a new perspective on the love for our children.
Jim is right...Zack's situation is having an impact on many people.

I personally know Jim and this is what family does here in southeast Arkansas. Luckily the state of arkansas is a true bible belt state and we all know the power of prayer makes a huge difference. Our Lord will carry Zack to healing. We just know it.
Just reading this good news is awesome. Our God is good, and its great to know that even though a lot of our schools posting on this board play against each other it's awesome to see the support everyone has given Zack over the past couple of weeks. Prayers will continue to be said and Prayers will continue to be answered. As far as he has come so far it wouldn't surprise me one bit if we see even more improvement these next few weeks.
keepn up sounds good prayers from salem
Last night at the Pea Ridge and Monticello game The Billies had a big long banner that said "Tower Power". My wife and I have kept up with what is going on with Zack by reading this thread. As the next to last week in class 4A football games are being played tonight. Please take a moment and say a prayer for one of our own " Boys of Fall". Zack keep getting better and know you have gained so many friends. Praying hard for more good news from ACH.
I am Jim Towers, dad of Star City Linebacker Zack Towers. I am so appreciative of everyones love and support on FF. It has been overwhelming to see everyone pull together over this situation. It is a true blessing. In the 8-4A this board isnt always so friendly, because every week you play a true rivalry game and there are true fans that support thier team in die hard fashion which is great. And this is because the core of the conference has been playing each other for years and years now. But to see everyones support and to have everyone praying for my precious son, and to see the other acts of kindness that have been shown by the 8-4A teams.....wow. Truely amazing. At the end of the day we all really do have each others back. I could list each conf team by name and list numerous things that each school has done for Zack. Just amazing and its all so appreciated. There have been numerous teams and schools that are out of our conference that do not know us personally that has went to great extremes and pray for us and show support and that is also very thoughtful and so much appreciated. I could list schools from all four corners of the state and everywhere else in between and the list just keeps growing daily now. Everyone has just been so great to us. May God bless you all. Zack is now day 33 in a coma. God has brought him along way. 3 times we have been told that Zack won't make it......and today he is beathing free of life support, off all IV's, and vitals are stable. We just need him to wake up. We are waiting on Gods timing now. This situation is so much more than a football injury now, God hand chose my son for this role. This situation has brought people back together and focus on what is really important. The kingdom of Heaven has been increased due to this. Many people have been saved due to this, lives rededicated, and people praying more than they ever have and being brought closer to God than ever before. So there is no way that even Zack himself could have had himself off that field that night. It was Gods will along. We serve a loving and healing God. We may not always understand Gods ways, but we do accept that God loves us all and his way is always best. There are literally thousands of people tuning into this situation. I have never seen any situation expand out as far as this has....and thats God at work using this situation that he created, using my son. The Bible tells us that those who suffer for his good are glorified and justified, so Zack has a ton of treasures that awaits him. God is in total control, always is. When Zack wakes up and realizes what all has been going on, he will be blown away from all the support and well wishes. He will also have a pretty awesome feeling knowing how God hand chose him for this instrument that was used. From Zacks hospital bed, he has had a ministry like most of us will never ever have. Thats just God working through him. So please keep praying for him. When God is through with this situation, I want and need my son back. God has brought him a long way, but there is still such a long way to go. Once again, thanks so much to my FF family. May God bless you all. And from ACH....Gods got this!! #ggt zt16
Thank you Jim.
Your messages always lift Christ up and in affect lifts me.

Stay up Jim. The prayer warriors have Zack's back!
Continual prayers here buddy!
Mr. Towers, I had trouble getting through your post from the tears in my eyes last night. Thanks for the post. I have been through a similar situation with a close friend. I have to say that our God is awesome. Some of those same feelings and emotional times I had back then have resurfaced. It all stems from Zack's (and family) situation, we don't know the full extent of God's plan but we do know there is one. I feel strongly that God is not through with Zack and I look forward to meeting him someday soon to tell him personally how he has affected my life without even knowing. As I'm sure many other's across the country want to do. Keep the faith and we'll keep the prayers coming.
Thanks Mr Towers, We all love the game and those who play it. It is a honor to lift up a family and player like Zack. Read on Channel 7 website he had made more improvements. I'm still praying for a full recovery.
The Ricebirds are still praying and we are taking Zack to WMS with us. Keep fighting Zack, we know you will pull through.

Still Praying for Zack and his family!
Prayers from Cardinal Country. We have been there. Still are. You will continue to be amazed at the outpouring of love and support that the "sports community" shows. I have many times been completely awestruck at the things that have been done for Khiry. We all as fans, parents, coaches and players, are one big family, and when one hurts, we all hurt. That could just as easily be my kid. Praying that Zack makes a full recovery, and can one day share his testimony, and how God used him to bring others closer to Him. Thank you for coming on here and sharing your heart with us. God Bless ya'll...
Lord please continue to be with Zach his family and friends. Continued prayers.

Still praying in Monticello. Jim Towers, appears to be a "Tower" of strength in that video. I can't imagine the stress on him and his family....without a doubt God is comforting him and his family.
You are in the thoughts and prayers of many, including mine.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength , in whom I trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:2

There will be an update on Zack on channel 7 tonight at 10:00
has he made any improvement ?????
I am so sorry that Zack, and his family are having to deal with this situation. I hope and pray for his healing and for the peace of mind and heat for his family. I think to myself why is this young man and his family going through this. Then I see the story on the news lastnight and I see how strong the family is and I know God is with them all. God is in that room every moment with Zack and his family, He is with the doctors and the staff of the hospital. God has seen everything that has happened, is happening and will happen. He has seen it all and He is with you. I believe God has used this tragedy and is still using it for His glory. I hope you all feel Gods comfort with you, Get well soon.

Zack is making small improvements every week. His dad posted a video on facebook of Zack counting to 5 on his fingers. It took a little while but he would hold up his fingers as the person would call out the numbers. God is working miracles in this family. Please continue to pray for Zack and his family...GGT #16
Quote from: Prayers for Zack TowersZack update: Zack had a really good night. Slight temp around midnight but doing really well. He seems happy and enjoys listening to his music. He also enjoys people talking to him. He really can let you know what he is thinking by his reactions.
For the first time since November 1, 2012, i communicated with my son last night and this morning. I told Zack to hold up one finger for "yes" and 5 fingers for "no". I would ask him a question like....Zack do u feel good.. And he held up clearly one finger. I asked him if he was happy and he held up one finger. Once we started that, he used our little number system the rest of the night. So good to communicate back and forth with him. He is counting to 5 on his fingers so good now. God really has his hand upon Zack. The Bible tells us that through our faith we are healed.....so many prayers for Zack backed by true faith has got us here today, but still a long way to go. Thank you to everyone for remembering us and continuing to pray for us.

Thank you for the continued prayers. Since the last update, Zack's condition has pretty much remained the same. He continues to respond to some commands and he can be very active. He will be going for a neuro visit this month so please be in prayer for that. Also, please be in prayer for Ty (Zack's brother) who plays for OBU. He tore his ACL last week and will be having surgery on Thursday. Thanks again for everyone who continues to pray.
The family posts periodic updates on the facebook page Prayers for Zack Towers.
Thanks I check on Facebook!
I believe there will be another update on KLRT Channel 16 tonight on the 9:00 news broadcast.
Had a lady come in the restaurant this afternoon wanting to put up a sign about a fundraiser next month for Zach. She began telling me about his situation by telling me he was in a coma and would never wake up. I stopped her cold in her tracks by saying, "Oh yes he will!"
She said it again. I said, "Oh yes he will!"
She finally got my point.
He will wake up. Period.
I have faith he will! God will let Zak wake up in his time. Never underestimate the power of prayer.
I belive he will be alright and I am still praying for him to get up from the sick bed and Graduate from HS.

Quote from: Prayers for Zack TowersZack update. Zack continues to do good. His mental ability continues to get better and better. He seems to respond more and more to me. We are trying to wean him slowly off his trach now. He still is having too many lung secretions to wean him off right now, so medication has been started to lessen the secretions. He can mouth breathe when you hold a finger over his trach, but only when he is sitting up. God continues to bless us all no matter what. And no matter how tough any situation may seem, God is always there. Its hard right now for me with it being his high school graduation season. He has missed out on so much of his senior year. Today marks 6 months since the injury occurred. God still is very much using this situation to his glory. Huge thanks to those who are still actively following and praying for him and his situation. Zack still gets cards and letters in the mail and for those people who send them I want to say thank you as we still read each and every one of them to him. He smiles so big when he hears them. I would especially like to thank Chris Weast and everyone else who helped with the benefit softball tourn this past weekend. There have been so many generous people we have came in contact with since Zack has been injured. It is impossible to thank them all by name due to the sheer volume. But u know who you are and please know how appreciated you truly are. Zack would like to wish everyone a happy Wednesday and he wants to remind everyone that Gods Gots This. #ggt zt16

Zack's dad just text me to clear rumor. And I quote...
Zack is fine and God is healing him.
If a person wants to remain on this website as a poster, I would not advise posting false rumors on this thread. This is the only warning.

QuoteZack update. Zack has had a good last couple of days. Zack had a couple of doc visits yesterday, but before he went, he got to go to Sports Clips for a hair cut, wash, and massage. He really enjoyed that. We have bought him a wheelchair van to get him around. This will really help as he likes to go out and it will allow more freedom for Christy and Roger. Zack has now started rehab. He continues to do well and slowly progress. Monday night when i saw him, i told him he was lookin good. He moved his mouth in a way i do believe he said "thank you". He still has the trach so naturally no sound came out, but he moved his mouth and tongue in that manner. He also gave me a thumbs up for the first time. God continues this healing miracle on Zack. God is good and he loves us all no matter what the situation may be. He is always there. Once again special thanks to those who continue to remember him and pray for him.
Thats great news
Not a day goes by without me thinking about Zack. I am quite a bit older than him but he grew up in the same neighborhood as me, playing football, baseball, and basketball in the yard with us older guys everyday it seemed like. Great memories that will last forever. Get well bud!
Please continue to lift Zack up in your prayers. His dad posted on facebook that he has not been doing as well the last few days as he has been....
I will. Continued Prayers for him and his family an friends. Praying that God gives continued strength and will continue to heal Zack.
Keep Praying for Zack!

If you would like to donate to the 'Zack Towers Scholarship Fund' you can do so at the Bank of Star City P.O. Box 69 Star City, Arkansas 71667 Attn: Wanda Tubbs or call 870-628-4286.
The hope is that this scholarship becomes funded well enough that it will go to a deserving Star City High School student every year to keep the memory of Zack alive and well.
