Here are the top 6 recievers in 3A, this is not a particular order:

Jordan Jones (Smackover)
Nick Becton (Episcopal)
Allie Freeman (Episcopal)
Taylor King (Charleston)
Ron'darius Cone (Prescott)
Josh Woodham (Mayflower)

Do y'all agree with this list?

WildcatGrandpa13

Allie Freeman and Taylor King are probably the two best in 3A, Freeman put up a solid 4 TDs on Friday and from what I have read on FF Taylor King is very talented

WPWells

Disagree Grandpa. Jordan Jones is going to be a Hog. He's the best on the list

Proud Buckaroo

Jordan Jones is the best. He comitted to arkansas right after his sophmore year.

adaptedtigerfan

Doesn't mean he is the best...  Means he had the size and speed required to play for the hogs.   End of discussion.

WPWells

I'd rank them as follows:

1. Jones
2. Freeman
3. King
4. Woodham
5. Cone
6. Becton
7. Kern (Lamar)
8. McCarley (Lamar)
9. Jones (Charleston)
10. Newhart (Charleston) when healthy

I can direct you to his highlights if you want to disagree...

Paperman

Osceola sophomore Traelon Woodson is an up and comer. Rivercrest's Devin Tittle is very productive. Two best in south Mississippi County in my opinion. Those boys in southwest Arkansas are playing at a different level. Excellent players and well coached.

Proud Buckaroo

Proud Buckaroo

Isn't highlights what backs your argument up though?

adaptedtigerfan

I just hit ya with facts..  I know how they look at players...   Height weight and speed.

Proud Buckaroo

He doesn't have just the appearance. He has the skill set to go with it..

sax2play8

As much as I love smackover and Jordan I would have to agree that jordan is that the best this year. But he does have the skills to be the best

soldier

I can't compare because I haven't seen any other teams, but Josh Woodham from Mayflower is a really good receiver. Fearless, when it comes to catching the ball, and he's quick too.

Mr. 3000 over here ;)

the green moose

Louie Crawford from West Fork has 400+ receiving yards with 10 touchdowns so far this season.

Hey, Coach.

snoopy22

Ron'Darious Cone has 31 catches for 705 yards.

adaptedtigerfan

That's 23 ypr that's pretty salty.

Proud Buckaroo

If we didn't have more than 2-3 very good recievers, I believe Jordan's stats would be a lot higher.

Here is his stats:
Jordan Jones leads Smackover this fall with 13 catches for 254 yards. (19.5 YPC)

oldballcoach

#1 Tie between Jones - Smackover and Freeman - LR Episcapal
#2 King - Charleston
#3 Cone - Prescott
#4 Woodham - Mayflower
#5 Becton - LR Episcapal
#6 Woodson - Osceola
Order could change over the weeks ahead

Cone (aka POT) for Prescott almost hits these stats every Friday night!

Stats are not the only thing that makes someone the best at that position.

Not so fast......Trayvon Beasley from Prescott 14 catches for 314 yards
Brandon Walker from Prescott 28 catches for 293 yards
So actually we have three guys with more catches and yards than Jones.  We have plenty of guys to go to.

snoopy22

We didnt want to be greedy and put all three of them on your list, but go ahead and put all three of them on your list. ;D

nastynice

Booneville spreads the wealth around as well. Going into this weeks game we have 4 different receivers with 1 rec for the year. They will all be throwing their hand up into the air this week trying to be the 1st to 2 rec for the year. It will be close!

Amazing (remarkable?) we agree on something. Go Royals!!

WPWells

I'm a diehard Cardinals fan, but for this series we're all in agreement! Not very often a Prescott, ECS, and Charleston fan agree on something! That's remarkable!

There's a difference between who would be the best D1 level receiver and who is the best in HS. I would not trade Allie Freeman for anyone on the list. He has great speed and quickness and great hands, and is very tough. Becton has as good of hands as anyone I have seen, and is 6'5", if he had a little more speed would be #1 in the state but as is he ain't far off. And we have a couple others who can really catch it. I would take our entire corp over anyone's.
So Jordan Jones may be an SEC level receiver, but I'll take our crew as a whole over anyone else's.

snoopy22

And I would take Prescott's over anyone's receiving crew.....With Episcopal in second.  I'm sure Charleston, Lamar, and Mayflower would be in the conversation as well.

Paperman

Traelon Woodson of Osceola, a sophomore, has made some big-time catches this season. Awesome high school receiver. Devin Tittle, senior, at Rivercrest is the Colts receiver, playmaker. Pretty good players these two are.

501Arkansas

Osceola has 2 good wideouts that's getting better every week with big crunch time catches. Traelon woodson is the best catcher on the team following behind his brother kolby woodson. Both has Outstanding speed

BUCK FEVER

Jordan"s numbers are down this year mainly because he is only playing on average 1 and 1/2 quarters per game...................not seen official stats for tonight yet, again about a quarter and a half but he had some good numbers, I know 2 td's on 2 receptions for 100 plus yards on those 2.....might have been more.

HeadBussa08

lol Buck keeps the excuses ready. Prescott has a very solid group. most likely one of the more sure handed groups to come thru in a while have to check with snoopy. Charleston and Mayflower both have good groups. Mr Story aint throwing all those yds to himself and have seen mayflower on film. they have some athletes. ready to see these teams in playoffs.
