Does anyone know if 3A-5 is using a double bye for the #1 & #2 seeds, or just a straight bracket with 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, etc.?

Uncle Tupelo

Double bye.  5/8 and 6/7 games on Monday.

 # 6 seed Baptist Prep girls play #3 seed Episcopal collegiate girls today at 4:00 at Episcopal.
Winner punches ticket to regionals.

Saw where CAC boys beat Harmony Grove, but haven't seen anything to confirm that Glen Rose advanced over Lisa Academy.  I assume they did, but don't want to say Lisa had zero chance, despite the tough season they are having.

Randy, I didn't make the game last night... did the coaches call up some of the Jr High girls after their Conference Tournament win?  If so, did they get the play some?

yes. He brought Mattie, Ellie and Ali up. Mattie was put in in the second quarter and ended up having 12 points which tied Josie for game high. She also had several rebounds and is very active  in the press coming up with a few steals and loose balls. She is the type player that coach Smith has needed. An active 5 spot. Ali and Ellie both played the entire fourth quarter which was a turbo clock mercy rule quarter. Ali scored her first varsity point making 1-2 from the line after being fouled on a solid move to the basket. The future looks bright for the girls side of Baptist Prep round ball. It's been a while.

A great game with several lead changes and a shot at the buzzer that didn't fall. This won't be the last time these two teams play in the postseason over the next three years. At one point in last nights game 6 of the 10 girls on the court were freshmen. Good luck to Episcopal the rest of the way.

the other three boys teams in our district all have the same thing in common. Each has a player that can carry their team. By no means do I mean to imply that they are simply one man shows. Each team has some capable supporting players. A player that can take over a game however can take  a high school basketball team pretty far at tournament time.
