Just curious ... who makes these rankings?

For the girls, a 15-9 overall / 6-6 conference Central team ranked ahead of a 20-3 overall / 12-0 conference Fayetteville team is a bit laughable. Yes, one of Fayetteville's 3 losses was to Central in a pre-Christmas tournament. One game early in the season does not define a team. And the overall records simply do not support ranking Central ahead of Fayetteville.

For comparison, MaxPreps computer rankings have Fayetteville 2nd in the state and Central at 25th. You can make a case for Conway, Northside, and NLR to be ranked ahead of Fayetteville, but ranking Central ahead of them you really can't.

If youíve seen the athletes on each of those two teams play.... then you can.

I've seen them both on multiple occasions. Central can't match Goforth, Franklin, and Beck. Although I grant you that Fayetteville has no depth after those three.

Anyway, it appears likely there will be another head-to-head match-up soon in the state playoffs between those two (second round game). So I guess we will see!

I retract my previous statement. If Central letís southside play that close, they wonít win a game at state. Making adjustments is not one of centrals Strong points

The accuracy of this is laughable considering the Ozark girls are number 8, it says 24-0, yet the were beaten  on Sat. by Pottsville.
