Get the early order discount, go ahead and order the rings, Warren will win it all this year.

Going to be the toughest game thus far of the season. Robinson is an extremely talented and great football team. Its gonna be a barn burner. I can see this one going either way and a score much like last season 35-28.

No way I'd make that assumption. Too many good teams remaining.

Not often it happens this way because of the way the brackets are put together but the 4 best teams are in the semifinals.

Really interested which offense can get it going first. Warren(player) and Burks wildcat offenses dominate early. This one could come down to coaching and Warren(team) holds clear advantage there.

Warren had over 450 yards rushing against Ozark and put over 350 yards rushing tonight against PG.

I know this Senator defense is really fired up about getting to play Warren again. They were already talking about it after the Gosnell game on the field. I don't know the exact stats but we held them to about 150 yards of total offense. They scored on their first two possessions and never again crossed the 50.

I greatly admire Warren, its program and its coach.  I've predicted a Warren loss only two times- against PA and LRCA.

But, I think Robinson wins this one.  There are great athletes on both teams, but I think this is Robinson's year.

Those stats are probably pretty close. They may have had a few more, but I doubt It was over 200. One thing that puzzled me was the change of offense for Robinson in the 2nd half. Gosnell never stopped Robinson in the first half with Tackett at QB, why in the world does the coach take him out and run the wildcat with Warren? The game probably would have been over a lot sooner.

Robinson may be better... but I'd never pick against Hembree right now. I think he is getting better as a coach by the game. And Treylon Burks is a once in a generation type player. I look for him to touch the ball over 30 times against Robinson.

I can't wait to see Treylon Burks against Caezar Warren. Both play linebacker and both are going to see each other a lot on the field. Do you guys see Burks as a WR at the next level or RB? Just what a game this has the potential to be.

Both are players that can play numerous positions it just seems that WR is the most natural for Burks. He is a heck of a LB though.

I think it's fairly simple for Robinson. If they can slow down Burks in the heavy wildcat package they can most certainly win. Now, that may be easier said than done, but this will be the toughest defense Warren has played all year. They have the size to matchup with Warren up front, their linebackers will be the key. If they can fill the gaps and wrap up Burks for short gains they'll be ok. Obviously, you can't give up the 50-60 yard plays.

Of course, Robinson's go to offense is the same as the Lumberjacks, the wildcat with Ceazar running the ball. I think they'll be able to score on the Jacks, Page should play both ways this game IMO. The Senators seem to be slow starters a few games this year so they'll need to get off to a quick start to put some pressure on the Jacks, they haven't been in a 4 qtr game since week 2.

It should be a heckuva game and I plan on taking the short trip to Robinson to see this game in person.

Last night was my first ever 4A playoff game. And first time to see either team play.

But last night Robinson was 10×'s better looking with Tackett at QB. The defense couldn't key on Ceazar and it opened up the offense. Gosnell could not stop the pass.

^^^ That's good to hear. Tackett is a pretty good QB, I just knew when he struggled against Arkadelphia, they went predominately to the wildcat. Maybe they won't need to do that next week, they do have quite a few weapons on offense.

Last season Warren jumped out to a 21-0 lead on Robinson I believe and the Senators could never get themselves out of the hole. They used their traditional offense in the first half, but switched to the single wing in the 2nd half in order to muster some offense, which worked.

Hard to go against Warren in big games, but I think Robinson has the defense this year to get it done.
Robinson will probably have a couple defenders go to the bathroom with Burks to make sure he doesn't have the ball  ;D

Senators 31 Lumberjacks 28

It only worked because we had a starting DE go down with a knee injury. The backup did the wrong assignment which also messed up our LB. Different year this year with this group of Senators. They have a real deal RB unlike last year.

Watching Kolian Jackson run that single wing package in last year's playoff game might have been Coach Hembree's inspiration for running this set with Burks. I don't think you'll see that set much against Robinson. You can run that offense consistently against Ozark or Prairie Grove. We probably won't be able to do that against Robinson.

It's so hard to pick against Warren in a big game but this just feels like Joe T's time. Unlike last year I think they pull this one out by a TD

I'll be real impressed if Warren can line up and run it down Robinson's throat. I really think they will have to throw it to win.

Out of curiosity, how much did Warren run wildcat with Burks against PG? I know someone posted they had a lot of yards on ground against them, I'm assuming it's mostly direct snap to Burks?

Robinson has some studs that weren't there last year, their D is loaded.

This is the whole thing. This is where Robinson wants to be. To be the best you have to beat the best, and everybody knows who the defending champ is. If Robinson plays like they did against Arkadelphia they'll lose. You can't have five turnovers and beat the Jacks. Not gonna happen, I don't care if it was PA.

I think they threw two passes all night.  That should answer your question on how much wildcat they ran along with their normal running game from the spread.  I don't believe I have ever seen Warren only throw two passes in a game with Hembree as HC.  They usually have that many in their first possession.  This team has plenty of size to match up with Robinson on the lines if not outweigh them.  This team has plenty of speed to match anything Robinson throws out there.  This should be a close game that could be determined on turnovers and costly penalties.  Both teams have size and speed and talented skill position players.   Both teams learned something about each other from last years playoff game in Warren.  Will be interesting to see how each team attacks the other on offense.

Over 400 yards rushing on Ozark and over 300 yards rushing on Prairie Grove with only 3 possessions in the first half.

Even with home field advantage, pressure is still on Robinson. We've been seeing other posters talk about them "choking" the last few years so they'll have to get that chip off their shoulders. I felt they were a one trick pony last year by just throwing up to Page or Jackson, not so simple this year. CW seems to be a good back whose name has to circulating in the Offensive Player of the year award. Good receivers can be covered easier than stopping a good back. My opinion. Should be a great high school football game. These are the fun weeks that make high school football so dang enjoyable.

HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 1 Warren at No. 2 Joe T. Robinson
A rematch of last year's quarterfinal, which Warren won 35-28, its closest game on the way to a 15-0 state title campaign. Joe T. Robinson committed five turnovers in that game, and was flagged for four first-quarter false start penalties.
Warren has won 12 straight games this season since an opening loss to Class 5A Little Rock Christian. The Lumberjacks pounded Prairie Grove last week 35-13, not allowing a point until 1:03 left in the third quarter.  Warren gives up just 14 points per game. Defensive linemen Marcus Miller (6-4, 290), a junior, and Wallace Smith (6-3, 290), a senior, spearhead a unit "that's playing well," Warren coach Bo Hembree says. Senior linebacker Psavian Person has more than 100 tackles this season. Junior linebacker Treylon Burks had 13 tackles and returned an interception 59 yards for a TD last week (his fourth pick six of the season), while Person racked up 18 stops.
Burks, regarded by opposing coaches as the top player in the state, shifted to quarterback and running back a week ago, running 19 times for 239 yards and four TDs. Warren's primary QB, junior J'malachi Kinnard, had two TDs (one rushing, one passing) in a 35-point win over Ozark in the second round of the playoffs.. Hembree is 6-0 in the semifinals.
Joe T. Robinson advances to the semifinals for the first time since 2010, the fourth time since 2002, and hosts a semifinal game for the first time since 2003. The Senators led Gosnell 21-14 at halftime a week ago, then stuffed Gosnell on fourth-and-one early in the third quarter, spurring a 24-point triumph. The Senators rotate 20 players on defense, including eight linemen. "Our plan is stay fresh and wear teams down by the fourth quarter," Coach Todd Eskola says. Senior middle linebacker Caezar Warren has 134 tackles this season, including 32 tackles for loss and eight sacks. Junior lineman Zach Williams has 65 stops, while senior safety Nathan Page has 40 tackles and six interceptions.
Junior QB Greyson Tackett has completed 16 of 20 passes in the playoffs. "He's improved every game," Eskola says. Tackett has completed 64 of 105 passes this yer (64 percent) for 1,252 yards and 18 TDs. The Senators became more dynamic on offense when Page became healthy enough to play receiver in early November. Page has nine catches for 229 yards and four TDs in the past three games. Robinson alternates three tailbacks, including Warren, who also takes snaps as Wildcat QB. Warren has 129 carries this season for 1,181 yards and 18 TDs. He ran 24 times for 259 yards Week 5 against Arkadelphia and for 214 yards and three TDs the next week against Nashville. Senior Andre Bradley has 69 carries for 609 yards and nine TDs, while junior Zaytron Waits has 59 carries for 467 yards and eight TDs

Cesar Warren is the wild card in this game.  He seems to break tackles easily and has the speed to take it to the house.  Warren has been susceptible to missed tackles at times and they have been bailed out because they could run the back down with Burks at lb.  Warren will have to tackle well in this game and try to limit the big plays.  Make Robinson drive the length of the field to score.  Not sure about Robinson's kicking game.  That could be the difference in this game.  Warren has been able to kick several field goals this year and it may come down to a field goal like it did a few years back in the Dardanelle game.

Warren has to defend the edges better in this game too.  You can't let the qb for Robinson get to the edge, whether it is their starter or Cesar in the wildcat.  Should be a great game.  Warren needs to hold them to 3 scores or less IMO.  Should be a low scoring game like the Robinson/Arkadelphia game but with these playmakers you never know.

Was at the game.  Outside of long completion on 4th down on first drive and 2nd drive Gosnell didn't really move the ball.  I'd guess they ran for maybe 50-60 yards.  Seemed like it just took Robinson Defense a drive or two to adjust to the flexbone.  Should be an awesome environment for HS Football this Friday.

I would think all the pressure would be on Warren. They are number 1 in the state. Coach is 6-0 in semifinal games. I'd hate to be on the team that was the first to lose in the semis. Robinson has never been there before, so they have nothing to lose.

See, we can spin anything to fit our agenda. Let's let the kids play and let's sit back and watch what should be a fantastic game. Just my two cents.

Pressure for Robinson to finally get over the hump. One thing for sure, there are several areas where Robinson has an advantage over Warren, however, coaching is not one of them. That may be the most important factor of them all.

I can only see a couple areas that are advantage Robinson.   Secondary and kickoff coverage teams I could see being advantage Robinson.  Possibly depth on defense but I promise you, Robinson will not rotate as many on defense this week.  They will put their best 11 out there.  It is hard enough to defend Warren's offense with your best 11.  You don't want to be caught with your second best out there with the ball in Burks hands.

I think qb is a push with both teams with a slight advantage Warren when Burks in running the wildcat.  Cesar is very good at it too so the advantage is not as much as it has been with the  other playoff teams.  Running back is advantage Cesar over Steppes but again, not as much as an advantage as you would think.  WR is advantage Warren period.  When Burks and McKnight are split out wide they are tough to cover no matter who you put out there on them.  Page is good but Burks has a definite advantage there and I cannot see Robinson having a second option better than McKnight.  I think it is a push on the line play on offense and defense.  Both teams have good line play.  Field goals I would give advantage Warren.  Haven't seen anyone mention the kicking game for Robinson in any thread so I have to believe it is average.  I believe Warren's kicker is a cut above average bordering on being very good.

All in all it is shaping up to be a very competitive contest.  This one could go either way.  Playing at home keeps Robinson within a 7 point margin.  It it was at Warren again, I would give Warren a definite 7 point edge or more.

Warren is traditionally battle tested and used to being in this position. This is Robinson's first semi-final appearance. When you have two strong teams facing each other at the point of the season, coaching definitely plays a big factor.

Not exactly true Romeo, this is the first semifinal for this particular team, but Robinson made the semis in 2010, 2003, 2002, and a bunch of times in the 70's and 80's.

I think Robinson wins a close one because of line play on both sides of the ball. Both sides of the ball are big and athletic. The sooner Robinson goes to the direct snap to C Warren, the sooner they take control of the game.

Just an opinion, based off of the Arkadelphia game.
First half was dominated by both defenses, JTR had absolutely no success passing the ball. They switched to the direct snap with C. Warren and another player, and Robinson began to wear on the Arkadelphia defense.

Reverse the scores and you will be close.   Went back and watched last years game.  Warren's #1 rb was crippled up, one of their main DL was  only  about 60% due to injury, Burks only touched the ball about two times the whole game and they still put up 35 points on Robinson.  This year Warren is coming into this game about as healthy as you could  expect this time of year,  Burks is touching the ball on offense about 20 times a game, the #1 running back is healthy, the DL is healthy and a force  to reckon with and most of the team is back from last year.  Robinson's passing game last year was pretty much nonexistent against Warren.  Warren's run defense this year is better than last year.  I just think Warren has the edge going into this game.  May not play out that way but just how I feel.

No, I had the score just like I think it is going to be. You are entitled to your opinion, just as I am. Good thing is that our opinions don't matter. Kids will decide it on the field. My opinion is based on the fact that y'all haven't seen a back like C Warren. Receivers will make some big plays because focus will be on him. Looks like line play will be. Lose to even on both sides, just think there is more depth there on Joe T. The game will be won/lost in the trenches.

Warren is every bit as good as Robinson in the trenches. You guys haven't seen a player as good as Burks since the last time y'all saw him last year. Robinson was hyped up and most had them to prevail over Warren last season and we saw how that shaped out. Will be the same outcome this season. Depth won't be an issue this game. Both teams wil have the best athletes going both ways.

Realistically, if Burks wasn't playing in this game, I would have to give the edge to Robinson. Burks will be the difference maker on Friday.

There was a fire that started yesterday evening behind the baseball field. The fire department dug a small trench around area and let the area burn. As of 5PM today there were still a handful of small fires and several hotspots. I don't believe any of Robinson's facilities were in danger...just a lot of smoke on campus and in the area.

All very good talents and lumberjack greats... but Burks is on a whole different level than all of them... and that's no disrespect to those guys at all as they have competed at all levels of football.

I completely agree. I give the edge to Warren for 2 reasons.
1) Burks will be the difference.
2) As stated previously, Warren is 6-0 in semi final games under Hembree.

Lumberjacks haven't seen a player like Warren because he was playing for a different school last year... lol

Burks can't play every play on both sides of the ball however. Warren is a different team with him on the sidelines. He'll still make some plays just not as many big ones as he usually does IMO.

Same can be said about C. Warren. He won't be able to touch the ball everytime either. Both players kinda cancel one another out. Both are valuable on offense and defense so they are going to do what they do. Both teams are going to need other players to step up and be difference makers.

One could allegedly break the teams down like this
Burks=C. Warren
McKnight> Page only because he can fill the RB spot better
Kinnard<Tackett by only just a little bit.
Jacks O-line< Senators D-line. The loss of Morris hurts the Jacks a little.
Senators O-line< Jacks D-line. Feel the Jacks are slightly better.
Jacks LBs> Senators LBs. Jacks have the luxury of playing behind this DLine.
Jacks secondary< Senators secondary. Feel Rob's DB's are better than the Jacks.
Jacks kicking>Senators kicking. This could be the difference in the game. Field position will be crucial.
Feel free to agree or rip this to pieces. Discuss!

Dump out.

With all this stuff being said right now. It's a shame that it will be dark once the Warren fans arrive to the stadium at Joe T's campus  Behind the school is Shinall Mountain and as you look toward the West you see the base of the Ouachita mountains. Including some views of pinnacle from areas. It truly is a great facility setting with great views.

With that said. Don't be afraid LR as you hear the sound of chainsaws marching through your "Chenal woods". They won't hurt you.

That's true. But every time Warren has needed something this year it's been Burks. You guys haven't need anyone else to step up yet. It will be interesting to see who that may be....

McKnight and steppes have done just fine this year. I would guess the same could be said abt everyone when their best player is out. If i had to guess. Burks will get his rest during certain parts of the game on the offemsive side of the ball.

Yes, they have, but you guys haven't been in a 4 qtr game since week 3. It's easy to play when you have a big lead like you've had most of the year. But maybe we're giving Robinson too much credit and you guys will roll again Friday night.

Incorrect. It took us 4 quarters Friday night.

No starters were pulled and everyone went the whole game. It was 7-0 going into half. Against a pretty good team.

That game was 28-7 ten seconds into the 4th qtr, it was never in doubt from that point on. You may not have pulled any starters but you definitely weren't under any kind of pressure either.

I think Warren is going to win by a lot come this Friday.  I believe the pressure will be to much for Joe T.  Just like 2015 when they were favored to win against someone in the quarterfinals and lost.  I think this game will have a surprising final.

Warren 34
Joe T. 13

The top two teams make the 7-4a the best conference this year. Past them, rest of the conference was mush just like every other conference. The top 4 teams have been the top 4 all year and deservedly so. Seems like normally, one side of the bracket has a cake walk to the championship game(I.e Mena in '14). Seemed like the talent was evenly distributed on both sides.

I'd say 1-4 of 7-4A were pretty solid and competitive, after that kinda weak. Not sure any other conference's top 4 can/could match the 7-4A's.

I was comparing all conferences, just the 7 vs 8 in regards to Robinson's and Warren's conference schedules.

A team (Bauxite) that didn't even make the playoffs beat the #2 in the 8 (Dumas) and both #4 seeds matched up early on and it was an Ashdown mercy rule over Monticello. Thar was before Ashdown's injuries of course, but they still made it to the quarterfinals even with those injuries. Robinson's schedule strength is better than Warren's in regards to conference play. Now, that may not matter at all Friday night, but it's just something I like to look at it when breaking down games.

Recall reading you post something similar last week for the Robinson/Gosnell game.  Give it a rest.  Beating a dead horse over one game in the 2nd round of the playoffs 2 years ago.  I'm merely a spectator of 4A football but are you that proud of beating them 2 years ago when you were both 2 seeds?  You act as if it were David vs Goliath.  It's the playoffs and two equal seeds played.  Should Robinson of won?  Of course, but it wasn't an upset for the ages. After reading the site for the past 3 years I've seen very few Robinson posters, so I don't see any of them on there bragging and boasting about how they'll win or more talented than anyone.  Might need to concern yourself with Arkadelphia. Just my opinion.

Well Ashdown did win 2 playoff games, so I'd say they'd fit in the top 2-3 of most conferences. Lot of size & athletes even without the top 2.
Nashville can score with anybody, i'd put them in the top 3-4 of most conferences.

No rules were broken... I should clarify. Robinson broke no rules.

Well, I'm a little late to the party, but I made it!  Been a busy week between catching up on the work that was waiting for me coming back from Thanksgiving and getting the house in order.  I wanted to first say how much I enjoyed being HOME in Warren last weekend to watch my Jacks in person and what a defensive effort they put forth against a solid Prairie Grove team.  Hats off to the Tigers as well as they had Warren fans sweating going into halftime up only 7-0.  They came ready to play and gave Warren the best half of football we've faced this season hands down.  It was obvious in the 2nd half that Prairie Grove started running out of steam once the ball began to roll.  I think Treylon's pick 6 really put a nail in the coffin as I could see the frustration and helplessness on some of the Prairie Grove players as they tried to run him down before he reached the endzone.  Great win for Warren, great season for Prairie Grove but the Lumberjacks are moving on to the semi-finals for the fourth time in the last 5 seasons.

That brings us to tonight.  Folks, I'll go ahead and tell you one thing, if you're team has been eliminated from contention and you live within an hour of Little Rock, get in your car when you get off work and drive to West Little Rock for this game.  It'll be worth the gas $$$ and ticket price.  Fans from both schools got a taste of the magic that could be had in tonight's game last year in the Quarterfinals as these two teams battled to a 35-28 Lumberjack win.  It was a game of momentum swings, big plays and huge defensive stops.  Warren jumps out early 21-0, Robinson claws back, they go back and forth but Warren preserves the win on a 4th down stop late in the ballgame.  It had everything and I don't see tonight's game going any different.  Robinson comes into this game primed and ranked #1 by numerous outlets.  They have more than earned that ranking as well, having claimed and undefeated conference title in what is certainly the deepest conference in 4A.  There's little argument that the 7-4A reigns supreme this season and truthfully, most seasons.  Deep conference with some very talented football teams.  Robinson had to earn some of those wins, specifically against Arkadelphia and Ashdown.  They had to use a double pass to stun the Badgers late in the ballgame in a 21-17 win and rode two 4th quarter Caezar Warren touchdowns to finally put the Panthers away 28-0.  They have a loaded roster with talent from all around Little Rock--but they did it fairly, so no argument here.  Tackett leads an explosive offense that is averaging 40.6 ppg and his #1 target Nathan Page has proven to be an exceptional athlete on the edge making big plays for the Senator offense.  Despite the steady play of these playmakers, their offense lives and dies with Warren.  Ceazar is the engine that drives this offense and make no mistake about that.  He has single handily bailed them out in some games (Ashdown, Arkadelphia) and is a superb athlete.  He'll be the best RB that the Lumberjacks have faced this season and one of the best they've seen in recent memory.  He's a hard-nosed, physical, violent runner with above average speed and nose for making big plays.  I think his strength though is on defense.  Flat out, kid is a gifted LB, gifted!  He's a solid RB, he's a next level caliber LB in my opinion.  He's as vital to their defense as he is to the Senator offense.  Robinson brings a large, physical defensive front, opportunistic LBs and a solid secondary (ask Nashville--5 INTs).  Robinson has won a lot of their games because of their line play, both offensive and defensive.  They've been the superior team in the trenches and have just bullied teams to the point of breaking.  This team seemingly has it all and again, will easily be the best team Warren has faced all season, no question.

The one thing they lack is experience in these kind of ballgames.  Yes they've made the semi-finals before, but under this coaching staff they haven't experienced the level of success that I think many fans around the state thought they should have.  Granted, there's no shame in losing in the Quarterfinals to the eventual state champion (last year against Warren), but I feel many fans have a perception that Robinson has drastically under-achieved with superior talent at their disposal.  This is a huge spot for the Senators.  Hosting the semi-finals against last year's champion and the team who put them out.  I'd say this is a #1 vs #2 match-up, revenge factor, home crowd.  You really couldn't ask for a better build-up.  The question is: can they produce?  Can they leverage all of these factors into their favor or if they fall behind 7-0, or 14-0, does that doubt begin to creep in.

Warren is battle tested.  The Lumberjacks have been here before, as recently as last year when they won AT Prairie Grove (who was also ranked #1 going into that game) to advance to the finals.  As it's been mentioned time and time again on this thread, under Bo Hembree, Warren is 6-0 in semi-final match-ups.  I've said it a few times but if you get Bo to the semi-finals, he'll get you to the finals.  The man knows how to coach in these winner take all scenarios and is scary good at in-game adjustments.  That's been the biggest thing I've noticed that's different about Bo as opposed to his first 10 or so seasons with Warren, he has really mastered in-game adjustments.  He's not afraid to abandon a faulty gameplan when it's simply not working to try something different.  In his early years I felt like he'd "go down with the ship" so to say because of a lack of in-game decisions and adjustments.  Both offensively and defensively, Warren is typically the superior team when it comes to making these adjustments on the fly and it allows them to wrestle control away from their opponent and in many cases can be very demoralizing.  I think the most important stat when looking at Bo's 6-0 --semi-finals record is the fact he's 3-0 ON THE ROAD in semi-finals games.  He won  at Dollarway in 2001 (talk about a hostile environment), he won  at Dardanelle in 2014 (Dardanelle was considered by many that season to be the better team--won on a last second field goal) and of course last year they won 48-28 at Prairie Grove who was ranked #1 at the time.  He's won close games in the semi-finals, the Dardanelle game in '14, the Valley View game in '13 (27-20 win where the defense forced a late fumble as the Blazers were driving in for a potential game winning score), but he's also won very impressively against what many considered were great teams: 2002, 42-12 over a 10-3 Prescott team that was very athletic, Stuttgart in 2006 where the Ricebirds came in as the undefeated #1 team in 4A, Warren blasted the Ricebirds 35-0 to advance, and of course last year at Prairie Grove. Bo is used to these high pressure games and has proven he's one of the best in the state in these situations.

The Lumberjacks will be ready tonight for whatever faces them at Robinson.  Just as the Senators have Ceazar, the Jacks counter with Treylon.  I'll be the first to tell you, Treylon isn't Warren's ONLY weapon, but he's our biggest.  Burks has been insanely fun to watch this season as he's found the endzone every possible way imaginable.  He has kick-off return TDs, punt return TDs, rushing, receiving (no throwing, I don't recall....) but most impressive, he's taken 4 INTs back for TDs.  He's THE most gifted athlete to wear the Orange and Black at Warren, I think his finally silenced any doubters with his performances of late.  I graduated with one of the most talent rich classes at Warren (c/o '03) but Treylon tops even those greats.  But Treylon ISN'T the team.  He's surrounded by a wealth of talent.  From Steppes in the backfield, McKnight on the edge, Kinnard at QB, it's good to see we've got Hargis back at WR (he's had some monster catches over his career) and most importantly, a very big, physical and talented offensive line.  Led by senors Pennington and Woodard, along with Hairston and Weaver this Warren offensive line has performed almost flawlessly this season.  Not to mention when we bring in Smith and Miller for the Elephant Package.  This formation has been lethal and Warren used it to wear Prairie Grove down.  It's been virtually unstoppable all season and could be a key for Warren tonight.  Defensively, Warren is stout in the front 7.  This defensive line is the best we've had since 2006 with Church. They are huge, physical, disciplined and athletic.  The linebacking corps, especially with Burks on the field, is a strong unit--again, fast, athletic and heavy hitters.  The lone weakness might lie in the secondary as they simply haven't been tested really at all since the Watson Chapel game in Week 3.  Last week against Prairie Grove there were a number of VERY open receivers for the Tigers and we were lucky they couldn't connect on some of the throws.  They still had success through the air, which was troubling to see.  Fortunately, we are athletic back there, so we should still have success but I won't be surprised to see Robinson bust a big play or two through the air.  We'll have to have short memories and move on when/if it happens.

I think fans are in for a slugfest tonight as I don't see either offense excelling against either defense.  Might be one of those games where the first team to 28 wins.  I don't think we'll see Warren jump out to a big lead like they did last season, it's going to be a slow grind with the hope of busting a big play on broken tackles or busted coverage.  Same can be said for Robinson.  I don't think you'll see the big chunk yardage plays from Ceazar simply because even in the open field, Warren has the horses to run him down, unlike some of the other teams they've played.  Treylon vs. Ceazar will be fascinating to watch tonight as they are, in my opinion, the top two players in 4A.  It'll be a chess match through-out as the teams feel each other other and begin to look for holes in the armor.  I think special teams will be a HUGE factor tonight.  The kicking game will be vital and these favors Warren.  Tinoco, though only a sophomore, has made some big kicks this season!  Warren has benefited from a strong kicking game and huge kudos for the administration for starting that soccer program.  It has paid them back in spades by producing kicker after kicker.  It's because of our kicking game that I'm giving Warren the edge, among a host of other factors. Tonight I think you'll see Robinson ride a wave of emotion and fan support into a battle for the first half, could see the teams going into the half tied at 14-14, or possibly a Robinson lead.  Coming out after half is where I think you'll see Warren begin to distance themselves to some degree due to adjustments but the 4th quarter should be electric.  I think Robinson makes a push, much like last season, but falls short once again.  Burks has a great game, but I think the support staff around him is what will get it done.  Look for McKnight to have some HUGE plays and the defensive to come up with a timely stop or turn over.  Kicking game will be critical as well.

Robinson battles tough again this season, but comes up just short to Warren in this rematch.  The Jacks push their semi-final record to 7-0 under Hembree and move-on to War Memorial for a chance at title #5.  Again, if you're anywhere in the area tonight folks, pay the money for the ticket, buy some nachos, sit back and enjoy what should be an instant classic.  Jacks prevail, Ceazar's empire falls.....

Warren 31
Robinson 27

Not what I expected. I figured Warren would win this but not cruising like this.... 24 minutes is a long time to go. Let's see if Warren adds a couple more scores and puts it out of reach.

What. A. Game.  Hats off to Robinson, they were exactly who I thought they'd be. Tough, hard nosed, physical and driven.  They fought back after going down early, just like last season.  Great team effort to climb back into the ballgame.  But just like last year, Warren didn't falter down the stretch, they made enough plays to keep themselves in the ballgame too.  Rode out the tide of momentum swings and had a chance to the win at the end of regulation but we pulled the kick just a bit right (from what I could tell).  Overtime in high school football is as good as it gets and I was glad we had the ball first to be sure!  Warren punches it in, then again, like last year's game, end it with a HUGE 4th down stop.

It's only fitting that it was Treylon Burks with the game winning tackle on Ceazar to seal it.  Wow!  Going to rewatch that one tomorrow morning.  Incredible.  Arkadelphia was impressive tonight dismantling Pea Ridge, but mercy, I'm pretty convinced we just witnessed the two best teams in 4A go toe-to-toe for four quarters....and a little bit extra!

Robinson, great season.  Don't hand your heads over this one.  Clearly a top 4A program with what you accomplished.  For Warren, what else is there to say for those Lumberjacks.  They have a will to win and understand what it takes to win the ultimate prize.  They don't dwell on which conference is better, who has the best defense, which team is the tougher one--they just come out, do work, and advance.  Bo Hembree has done a masterful job getting these guys to this point and now moves to a perfect 7-0 in semifinal games.  Unbelievable.  Congrats to you Bo, the team, the coaching staff, the fans....everyone.  Well earned, hard fought victory tonight in what had to be one of the best high school atmosphere's in recent memory.

Road isn't over yet.  One more 7-4A team to dispatch guys.  Badgers look fierce, but Warren carries a BIG AXE!  Give it to them!

-Kyle

Joe T Robinson-28
OT
Final
Sorry my phone died. Just got home. That was one heck of a football game. Caezar Warren got tackled at the 1 foot line to end the game. As bad as the first half was the Senators came out and played inspired football to start the second half. Since the high school OT rules starts each team at the 10 yard line, there was no stopping Treylon Burks when he dove in for the 1 yard score in the first part of the OT. I thought Caezar got in on the Robinson possession but just came up short. I know all the people think that Robinson just "chokes" but that was one of the best games I've ever seen. I wasn't really happy with some officiating but I've never used that as an excuse. Warren outplayed us in the first half and in OT.

He's the best player in the state that's for sure. Caezar Warren made a case for All-State though as well. He had a great game and a spectacular season. These seniors for Robinson have helped to change the program and I expect they'll be a contender for many years to come.

The only people that will say this Senators team choked is the fans of teams that didn't make it as far as Robinson did. I knew C. I have to disagree, both teams are very talented and in a word "great," but neither played 4 quarters. A championship team shows up both halves. I think the matchup against Arky is indeed the championship and it is quite unfair to dismiss them like you did. Still not sure why Robinson spots Warren 21 points every year, but again, can't take the first half off against them.

Crazy to think Burks and Mcknight are just juniors. Seems like they have been in high school forever.
Robinson has 22 Juniors and 16 Sophomores coming back including Greyson Tackett, so we should be pretty good again next year.

I've never seen parking lined up so far back on highway 10. It was PACKED.

That's good! Will be interesting to see how much better Burks can continue to get. He has been dominating since his freshman season. He has to hold the single season td record for warren. I would guess he is close to 40tds on the season.

Same score as last year, and pretty much played out to the same scenario.
Warren jumps out to big lead going into half, but has to hold on at the end!
Congrats to both teams! Warren on the win, and to Joe T on an outstanding season!
Good luck to Warren next weekend against Arky at WMS!

Excellent game and worth the trip.  Robinson was folding and was all but cooked to well done.  Warren let off the pedal and Robinson took advantage of it and took it to the wire and forced ot.  I really was wondering how either team was gonna stop Burks and warren from scoring in 4 plays from the 10.  Figured it may have to come down to who would roll the dice and go for 2 and miss to lose.  Burks is a beast and as just as fun to watch him play this year as last.  Good lord...he's got another season to go in hs!!

Just a little quick peek at Warren for next season. This is what's returning on offense, not sure about defense just yet since we play some both ways. Will be several on that side of the ball as well. Biggest losses on defense will be DT Smith and LB Person.

Offense: 8/11

QB - Kinnard
RB - Steppes
WR - Burks
WR - McKnight
WR - Reep
OL - Weaver
OL - Higgins
OL - Duncan

Defense: 8/11

No gluteal hurt here, I just think it's an absurd statement considering how the game played out that a clear champion was present last night. Of course one probably doesn't hit nearly 11000 posts by thinking things through before commenting. None of the teams I follow made it this far, so I'm looking forward to a heck of a game from a completely neutral standpoint.

Watching the replay of that last play, it looked like Robinson pulled their right guard for a trap and more protection on that left side, which left a big gap for Burks to make the stop. I think Ceazar Warren might have scored if they didn't pull their guard.

I wonder if coaching knew that play like the back of their hands. Burks was in perfection position.

Just an observation but had we connected on that FG in the final seconds we would have won 31-28. I called a 31-27 final score, so I was oh so close. They just wanted to treat the fans to a little more football and terribly exciting ending!

Either way, Warren wins and advances. Kudos again to Robinson. Classy team and fan base! Best of luck next season. Maybe we can met again in the finals for a change next year!

LOL. So now we're talking post counts? Speaking of absurd...

How about telling me how I'm wrong?  Warren and Robinson have been and still are the two best teams in the state in 4A this year. The records and head-to-head matchups would indicate that being the case. It just happens they played in the semifinals rather than the finals.

Proving that Warren would of been battling Nashville and Ashdown for 3rd, 4th and 5th place in conference this year!

PR 35
Warren 21

Hahaha.
