valley springs girls and boys will be pretty good this year ..

That's what I've heard. What do you know about them?

Valley and Cotter are the two best teams in the league IMHO. I believe Valley has a 7th grader who's playing up and will light you up from outside. Cotter's two big guys and their lefty shooting guard are a tough trio to stop. Mtn. View and Yellville don't look too bad. Unfortunately that's the only teams I've seen so far this season.

Will Cotter have the depth to compete with Valley?

That's Cotter's biggest problem. They have no bench whatsoever. The starting 5 will have to stay out of foul trouble. It should be an interesting contest.

Boys side of conference will come down to Valley Springs/Cotter.   Valley is definitely deeper and has better perimeter play. They have a great 8th grader (Audeoud, not sure how to spell it), great 7th grade shooter (Jenkins) and a good 9th grade forward (Garvin).  They really just have one post player, but he's pretty good(Short).  Cotter is better in the post with (Dearmore and don't know other kids name).

Girls side will be between Valley Springs/Mt View.  Mt View has a good 8th grade guard(Shipman) and a really good 6 footer in the paint(Shelton).  Don't think they are very deep, but haven't seen them play this year.  Valley is going into a 3 week break at 14-1 being led by one of the better forwards in the area (Graddy).  They have two good guards(Moore and Yocham) that can shoot and their own 6 footer in the paint(Henderson).  This should be a great match up.

Then Valley jr boys turned around and lost to Yellville so there is now a 3 way tie atop the jr boys conference between Valley, YS, and Cotter.

Yellville jr boys lost last week at Mt View so Valley jr boys are in first place with the head to head win over Cotter.
Valley Springs jr girls beat Mt View by 14 tonight to remain undefeated in the conference and move to 23-1 overall.
