Shiloh (10) @ Prairie Grove
The top two teams in the 4A-1 finally meet. Both have been cruising since the start of conference play, with their scoring averages even being similar (47 PPG v 46). While the Tigers might have the better conference win (over Gravette), the relentless offense of the Saints just might prove too much.

Stuttgart (15) @ Newport
Well, the Greyhounds actually did something I doubted they could consider doing until later, though now it makes me wonder what been happening in the Royal Warren. Meanwhile, the Ricebirds are picking up steam in blowing through early 4A-2 play. This week will show how far the guests have come since Week 2.

Brookland @ Pocahontas (35)
Speaking of first wins of the season, the Bearcats got theirs over a very unlikely opponent, holding off Highland in a shootout. This week presents a much taller order, however, as they travel to one of the 4A-3's best. Pokey has been on a tear since the opening kickoff, and I see little reason for it abating in Week 6.

Ozark @ Pottsville (10)
A warning to anyone who dares read: don't sleep on the Hillbilly defense. Just within the period covered by FF, the 32 points allowed so far are the fewest by this team in the first half of the season (for reference, the next-lowest number within that span is 50, in 2003). In fact, you'd probably have to ask ol' Edghog as to when the scoring defense was that strong. However, it is the offense that will tell the tale for Ozark this year, and regardless of whether we see sophomore Hayden Atkinson or senior Austin Wheelis under center this week, much will have to be proven if they are to have a chance in the Wikiup.

Fountain Lake (10) @ Arkadelphia
This one's tough to call on paper. The records are very similar, and both played the same two teams to open 4A-7 play, with the resulting records being identical. This one seems to be a call of momentum, with the confident Cobras expected to prevail against a Badger side trying to regain its footing.

Star City @ Hamburg (10)
The Bulldogs are finding out pretty quickly where they stand in the 4A-8. Despite the edge in experience, they ultimately fell short against ever-surging Warren, and that loss to Lonoke is looking worse by the week. Not the best news to face as they travel to face a team that hasn't been scored upon since mid-September. That trend may end for the Lions this week, but they should have enough on offense to prevail.

Gravette @ Pea Ridge (15)
The winner of this matchup will have a leg up for a Week 11 home game. The Lions seem to be a pretty good gauge for how other teams stand this year, as their 3-2 record indicates, but they're currently licking their wounds after Prairie Grove took it to them. The good news is that they will be the toughest team the Blackhawks have face so far. However, the hosts have been clicking offensively so far and just might prove to be too much.

CAC (15) @ Heber Springs
The Panthers have been on a coaster from the word "go," with wins over Clinton and Lonoke offset by a trio of blowouts. This is their chance to show the 4A-2 where they stand, but it won't be easy. The Mustangs are on a collision course with a Week 10 winner-take-all bedlam, and I don't expect that course to be derailed this week.

Gosnell (20) @ Trumann
The Wildcats finally have some confidence after many years in the 4A-3's cellar, but they likely won't trouble the Pirates too much. Gosnell's greatest challenge is to not look two weeks ahead. Weeks 8-10 will determine where Trumann will really stand.

Malvern (15) @ Ashdown
Is the 4A-7 seriously trying to package its scheduling? This is a similar setup to the above, right down to the common opponents! Both teams need this game if they want to play at home in Week 11.
