The hogs looked dang sharp tonight.  I was impressed, they're looking better than I expected.  Georgia is a good team, we'll be lucky to sweep, I'm glad we nabbed game one.

Good way to start the conference season off.

Yep.  Georgia lost 2 of 3 to the pre-season #1 and now #2 team, Arizona, in their season opening series.  They then lost two of three from the two time defending national champs Oregon State also.  If Arkansas takes two of three, they've done as well as some elite teams could do.

I just tunred on the hog's game today and they're up 10-3 in the top of the 6th but they're having a bad inning.  Two men on and the third run scored as soon as I turned it on on an error.  Still, a 7 run lead, go hogs!

Well, 10-4.  I think I should turn it back off, I'm obviously sore luck.  It was 10-1 after 5 innings.

Oh jeez, 10-5.  They need to maybe start warmign someone up.

They got out of it, 10-5 in the bottom of the 6th.

Someone gave me an update, Arkansas did nothing in the 7th.

13-10.  A guy from Gerogia got a home run in the 7th and 8th innings.  Yes, same guy.  Brutal.

Arkansas is going into the bottom of the 8th.  Six outs to score at least 3 runs and keep Georgia from scoring anymore, which they have not done since the 4th inning.

That at bat took forever. First was ahead 3-0 then gets 2 strikes and fouls off about 4 straight.

If the hogs can get to the bottom of the 9th wihout giving Georgia anymroe runs, they have a chance.

Leadoff guy fro Georgia went to 3rd on a bunt single by the next guy up. Chuck said if they let it roll the ball would have gone foul, but they picked it up and everyone was safe.

Just for an update amid the basketball excitement, Georgia is handing Arkansas' butt to them on the baseball diamond today.  9-0 in the 4th.

I got out of my car after the UGA pitched fanned us to end the 3rd inning. He had 6 K's through 3 innings.

Gonna be a rough year.

Not terribly rough.  Nobody believes me, but Georgia's mediocre record does not mean that Georgia is mediocre.  Plus, I didn't expect a win after the mess yesterday.  Georgia is one of the better SEC teams we'll face.  We won't be hostign a regional or anything like that, but we'll get some series wins in the SEC.

I thought abotu who we play and LSU, Florida, Miss St, Tennessee, Alabama, and Auburn are all not as good as Georgia.  We also play Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Ole Miss.  Those three are better than Georgia.  We don't have to play Kentucky, they may well be better than Georgia.

Arkansas drops the first game of its iwo game series with Nebraska today, 6-1.  The Nebraska pitcher threw a complete game against the hogs.

Don't know the final, but the Hogs won the 2nd game against the Huskers today. I think it was 3-3 going into the 8th, and then the Hogs exploded for 6 runs to take a 9-3 lead. Last I had heard was 9-4 but I know we won.

Well, I'm sure everybody is watching the game on TV, but the baseball hogs were getting whipped my LSU but have come back to take a 7-6 lead going into the bottom of the 7th.

Well, LSU was swept last weekend by a less than great Tennessee team.  Arkansas has lost 6 of its last 8 and LSU isn't that good.  I think LSU hit three homers tonight.  It's looking pretty hairy.

I'm keeping up with the game on live stats. Arkansas has outhit LSU 17-14, and LSU has made five errors, including two in the ninth as the Hogs scored twice.

It has been pretty mixed as far as expectations go. I have heard people say we should go to the CWS, which is absolutely crazy, and some say we won't make a regional. I personally thought coming in we may be able to pull of making a regional, but I wasn't going to get too upset if we didn't. We better pick it up fast. Losing our first two SEC series and having a road trip to Vandy this week doesn't look good. We could get swept by Vandy as good as they are.

The Vandy game on Friday was postponed until Saturday and they would play a DH. Yesterday the first game started at 3:05. There was a rain delay in the 5th inning and play didn't start until 9:45. At 12:08 they stopped the game again in the 11th inning.

Sounds like the Hogs are playing pretty good though if they are in the 11th inning with the #8 team in the country. I said I would be happy pulling one out of this series with it being at Vandy and them being so good.

The hogs were ahead 5-2 in the 7th before the rain delay.  Now it's tied at 5 going into the 12th.  If the hogs win one game they can't lose the series since now they can only play two games.
