I fell asleep. The James franklin machine ended at Vandy.

Temple....

True !!!!  What that guy did at Vandy was a miracle.

Lions84

The Aggies looked really good or is the Gamecocks over rated.

I wouldn't read too much into A&M's performance just yet - A&M is playing with training wheels on.  Arkansas better take advantage of A&M's Youth & Inexperience, before those training wheels start coming off though. Sumlin say's A&M won't be a top football program until they start having 8-10 players in the NFL Draft each year.  Had 3 last year - long way to go!

beach bum

Texas A&M 52 Arkansas 28 .... That will be the score later this year.

History means nothing with this years matchup. We are terrible and A&M has twice as many targets to throw to as most teams. We wont stop A&M... We can only hope for a terrible rainstorm all 12 games this year.

If history were any indicator of the future, Central High and Pine Bluff would be playing 7A Football - Bentonville would still be on everyone's Homecoming Schedule.  Who is Greenwood?

Four consecutive Top 5 Recruiting Classes a difference will make!

Valleysports

So I watched the game today (recorded) - about what I figured.  A&M has too many freshman, and due to disciplinary action or injury, have lost too many defensive players.  That Linebacker, who was looking good, went down bad - had to be ACL.  They aren't even close to being as good as last year - S Carolina has a worse defense than A&M.

Lions84

We are playing in Jerry's World this year so Weather not an issue.

Valleysports

This game will be a lot like the Auburn game.  High scoring - could go either way.  A&M will be over ranked.  Both defenses have several games to learn their positions.  No huddle offense might be a factor in 2nd half - if A&M pushes it.

cotnhauler

Score will be like 54 to 42 aTm. Their receivers will drop fewer passes than ours.

Valleysports

So A&M is playing Lamar - should be about like Arkansas vs Nicholls St?  106,000 Fans at Aggie Stadium.  Lightning hits - runs teams off field.  A&M needs to bring some of that money to Arkansas State and UCA.

Not sure you'll ever see ASU play in College Station again.

Valleysports

How A&M will play this year, as a team, remains to be seen.  But oh my goodness, some of these 4-5 star freshmen athletes are impressive.  Ricepig, did you see Kyle Allen (backup QB)?  Kenny Hill better not let up!

And the windfall continues:  TEXAS 7 - BYU 41,  in Austin.

They played Lamar, about as impressive as playing Nicholls.

Yeah, only way it could have been better was if Notre Dame had lost, unfortunately, they were playing a Big 1G team.

That was the first big mistake the CFB Playoff crew did: allow ND an undeserved way in.

Ha ha - yep it was only supposed to be a breeze with this 5 star freshman group, be a storm warning with next years top recruiting class, and year after next the perfect storm will be upon us.  This was supposed to be a down year for A&M - they just haven't played anyone until today.  Patience!

Just think how bad msu will beat us. Idk why everyone is saying we will beat the MS schools

I'm saying with A&M in a rebuilding year, starting rotating 9 freshmen on defense, and all - Arkansas should beat them.  They're only at 30% (from what they'll be in 2 yrs) yet - better beat em now  ;).   They're over-ranked ( 6th) because they beat a previously over ranked South Carolina, then the same type teams Arkansas has played.

You know who that female is RP?

"Offensive coordinator Jake Spavital made it clear that Allen won the right to start with his play in practice over the last two weeks, not because of Hill's suspension.  "Where we're at right now, we're looking for the best guys to put out there and to go out there and compete, and he definitely earned the starting position," Spavital said."

Interesting development in College Station - Ricepig.  I haven't seen Allen looking exceptional, when he's gotten his shot, in a game yet.  But he'll get Auburn and Missouri over the next two weeks.  Funny how, after that first game, everyone was Johnny Who?  That'd be Johnny Football!  LOL

Hogs have the biggest O-Line in College football. Missed on 4th and 1 against A&M, Bama and MSU. THAT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN PERIOD !

I'm not much on necessarily having the biggest line - I want the job done, might be better with a 280 pounder with speed.

A&M being led by Freshmen all over that field RP - learning curve not on as steep of an incline. Think the Kyle Allen take over is happening?

Ooops well his learning curve is just starting.   ;D

Thanks Fullback!  These guys don't realize my post are like looking through a crystal ball.  I haven't watched Sumlin much, not sure what he was doing.  Either he didn't trust the 18yr old yet, didn't want to take a chance on the kid throwing interceptions (confidence), or just his style - but he came out, after half, just trying not to blow the big lead - which ultimately he did.  A&M's future was on the field Saturday (10 freshmen defense) - in 8 months they will have 4-5 star commits battling for every defensive position though, which will make them two (4-5 star / Soph & Fresh) deep.

A true football program isn't built over night - they've been getting all that infrastructure in place (Johnny was fun), now they're building a foundation (players & stadium), they'll either be a Top 5 or the most underperforming college team in the near future.  Time line - A&M's program will rise, in step, with their freshman QB (Kyle Allen) - even if he isn't the starter this year.

Memphis is 3-2 against the Hogs all time.

Ole Miss had their hands full with Memphis for a half. Then they pulled away.

If the Hogs win this weekend they will play a better opponent than someone like Memphis. If not I just assumed the match up be against Big Blue instead of a 6-6 middle of the pack team from the Big 12.
And OBU's beaten Arkansas twice and tied them once.  Decades-old games are completely irrelevant to what would happen if they were to face off this season.

Pardon the interuption - just need to store this quote.......

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2318976-texas-am-football-the-biggest-offseason-storylines-for-the-aggies

The Aggies had a very young team in 2014
and finished the season with a 8-5 record and a Liberty Bowl win over West Virginia. The 2015 offseason should be a time for the team to mature and get ready to take that next step to compete for the SEC title.

The biggest storyline in the off season, and one of the biggest in years involving the Texas A&M program, will be the addition of defensive coordinator John Chavis to the staff.  Offensive line coach B. J. Anderson was fired and replaced by Dan Christensen. The Utah offensive coordinator has also spent time at Wyoming and Missouri.

The Eye, of A&M's Storm, is riding on this recruiting battle with Texas.  Recruits are running around like a school of fish - where 1 goes they might all go.   ;D

What ever Malzahn & Muschamp are handing out, at Auburn, the rest of the SEC needs to do the same.  Auburn has been flipping big time recruits over the last week.
