Okay it's time to get this party started. Here is the place to eagerly anticipate the reclamation of the swagger and savor the dominance that is to come. You may also use this thread to lament the prophsized destruction of your favored 4A team at the hands of the resurging Ricebirds.

Good luck

Does this resurgence of dominance include a winning season? That seems like a good place to start.

Yep a winning record and actually making the playoffs will be a a nice accomplishment. Losing is becoming the new tradition.

Well how did the team camp go?

I only stayed for the first hour. I was mainly watching the half of the field with Hamburg, Stuttgart, Glen Rose, Fordyce and Poyen. Hamburg looked the best overall out of these. Stuttgart looks much improved over last year as expected. More size on the lines and more speed in the backfield. New QB has a decent arm, just needs to play and gain more experience. They had a WR break open deep on what would've been a TD on 3 occasions. Although it was hard to get a good gauge on any offense as they were alternating out 1 play at a time while the defenses were staying on the field for about 10 plays at a time. But there were quite a few hard hits from the defenses.

From what little I saw of Malvern their QB looked small and didn't have a very strong arm. They did break off a few long runs however and have pretty good size on the lines.

Take all of this with a grain salt as it was just a team camp and who knows how many players were missing from the teams.

Malvern had some speedy running backs, didn't see much out of their passing game however. It seemed to be all short stuff.

Yeah Malvern loves the short passing game, especially bubble screens. The little bowling ball RB McCullom is a load. Very tough to bring down. Their biggest question mark is their line play. They lost a lot of guys upfront

#8 Bradford, the best WR they had, has graduated. I can't remember who the other big WR is you are talking about. One of the smaller WR's, Dickens #6 I think, signed with SAU.

Thank goodness... they burned FL last year.

Coach Burke sure would be proud. I think about all the Hours spent mowing and spraying that field. That man kept that filed looking like a turf field. It was one of the best grass fields around, No more mowing. Looks good.

Those are the two I was thinking about. I forgot just one was big. Knew they had two good ones. That's a big blow to that offense. Those two were the passing game.

If you had any clue what the talent pool is like now you would agree. it was way down the last two seasons and the Ricebirds still managed more victories than the mighty dragoons. Heck, they even put a curb stomping on you at your house

I went and looked at the turf before I had to report back to my own fall camp. Really slick and not much rubber in it. Other then it won't have any grip, it looked really good.  A huge improvement over the grass.

The new surface definitely puts Stuttgart back at the top of 4a stadiums.

Well that would be nice. But what I'm getting at are the stands, press box, concessions, etc. For example, Nashville and Arkadelphia (I'm sure others as well) have nicer stands, press box, and concessions. Turf doesn't make it the nicest 4A stadium.

I didn't say it was, but it's for sure the best in the 2-4A. I've been saying that we could use chair backs in the reserved seat section at some point, but I'm sure getting the field/track renovations complete were the priority this year (as they should have been).

Cuckoo said it was. That's what I'm referring to. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to knock Stuttgart. It's still a nice field and stadium, just probably not the best in 4A.

I've sat in your visitor bleachers and they are not very good. You can barely see over the team on the sideline and parking is a nightmare. (Marianna has nicer visitor bleachers) Home side is nice though. Btw, I'm including parking, tailgaiting, and other intangibles. Most places don't have adequate parking, unless it's on the street in front of someone's house. That's a huge factor in my opinion. I don't remember your concessions but I'm guessing the visitors have to walk all the way to the home side? If so, that's a big negative no matter how nice they are.
