Here at tournament time the season basically starts over. Teams that have talented freshmen can create problems. Malvern's approach to post season should be like all other teams." Proceed with caution". No team should be overlooked or disrespected. I think they understand that their the team with the "Bulls Eye" on the back.

Nashville 40
Baptist 40
Start 2nd Overtime
If by wild, you mean a phantom stepping over the line on a free throw to steal a victory from AB girls with 2.3 seconds left, then yes that was a wild sequence of events.

Totally agree with you Pass. Trail official made the call on the phantom violation with 2.3 secs to play in 1st OT after Hogue had made the front end of 1 and 1. Terrible call and not his to make, the wing is responsible for the FT shooter and he did not blink on the make.

It was! Baptist just laid down and quit, I probably heard their coach say that a handfull of times.
And correct, should be two great games. I'm eager to see how Nashville does against Arkadelphia for the first time with Hopkins.

If by phantom, you mean the shooter, then yes it was a lane violation.

PASS

I have watched game film. There was no violation. The ball was 2 feet out of the net when she stepped over the line. That's life though, not fair.

~WPS~

High school basketball officiating isn't the best by any means. I've been on the bad side of calls plenty of times. Anyways, lots of credit goes to the Baptist girls, they seem like a good, hard working group. It's tough to see anybody lose a hard fought game like that, especially the way they did.

eagle1

Agree and I never like to blame a game on officials. There are so many calls, plays, shots, etc during the course of a game that impact the outcome. It is just a bitter pill to take that bad of a blown call with 2.3 secs to play in a game deciding who goes to Regionals. I am taking nothing away from the Nashville ladies. They played hard and it was a battle. Good Luck the rest of the way.

PASS

I agree with Eagle1 about Nashville. They played their hearts out too. I have had the pleasure of coaching Kassidy Snowden in the past. She is as fine a young lady as you will ever meet. I will be rooting for them throughout the play offs.

I would also like to add that the people hosting and working the tournament were extremely nice and did a great job. The Hospitality room was awesome with great food and hosts and the overall facility was top notch. Nice job all around.

Upset!! A win like this could help the program gain relevance in basketball. They have to build on this though

~WPS~

Definitely! That's the loudest I've ever heard it at a Nashville basketball game. Hopkins was the difference. He was in Oliver's face all game.
