100 meter dash

1. Kavin Alexander – North Little Rock (11.39) (10.88) (11.21) (10.74)
7A East-Central Champ. Hasn't ran a lot, but has ran sub 10.9 twice. Has to be the favorite.

2. Brandon Cox – Conway (11.43) (10.98) (11.10) (11.25) (10.98) (11.33) (10.82)
7A East-Central runner up. Has ran sub 11 three times, but they were all wind aided. Still, sub 10 is sub 10. Has consistently been one of the best in the state.

3. Chase Lamers – Rogers (11.55) (11.21) (11.13) (10.93) (10.98)
West Champ. Has run sub 11 twice. Has ran in the low 11s all year.

4. Tre James – LR Central (11.46) (11.51) (10.99) (11.10) (11.10)
East-Central 4th place finisher. This is somewhat of a stretch maybe, but he has ran sub 11 once and 11.1 twice. Could easily finish this high

5. Joey Saucier – Heritage (11.61) (11.22) (11.22) (11.07) (11.09)
West 3rd place finisher. Has been consistent all year and seems to be rounding into form at the right time.

6. Altee Tenpenny – North Little Rock (11.25) (11.27) (11.42) (11.33) (11.24) (11.02)
East-Central 3rd place finisher. Some will think this is too low. He did run a great final at conference, but it was wind aided. Could still easily finish much higher.

7. Robert Holland – FS Southside (10.96) (11.53) (11.35) (11.14) (11.27)
Didn't compete in this event at conference. He has been strange with his times all year. They have been up and down and up and down. Has the ability to finish this high though, if he runs this event.

8. Brice Gahagans – Fayetteville (11.82) (11.80) (11.29) (11.46) (11.30) (11.06)
West runner up. People will probably say he should be higher, but I'm thinking he won't beat those guys again that he did at conference. Started off not running super fast times and has improved tremendously as the year has gone along.

North Little Rock - 13
Conway - 8

Discus Throw

1. Marcus Lindsey – North Little Rock (143' 9") (142' 8") (132' 5") (150' 11") (163' 7")
East-Central Champion. Has thrown over the 140 mark four times. Has thrown over 150 once and 160 once.

2. Matt Haven – Bentonville (138' 8") (119' 8") (160' 1") (144' 0") (150' 1") (149' 1") (145' 9") (149' 3")
West Champion. Has thrown over the 140 mark six times. Has thrown over 150 twice and 160 once. The only reason I have Lindsey ahead of Haven is because Lindsey's last two outings have been better than Haven's.

3. Jerrell Credit – Conway (131' 2") (153' 6.5") (157' 1") (145' 6") (142' 3") (147' 9")
East-Central runner up. Has thrown over 140 five times. Has thrown over 150 twice.

4. Brannon Kotch – Conway (151' 6") (148' 2") (140' 11") (133' 11") (137' 9") (136' 2")
East-Central 4th place finisher. Has thrown over 140 three times. Has thrown over 150 once.

5. David Price – FS Southside (139' 6") (153' 9") (135' 0")
Did not throw at conference. Actually hasn't thrown in about a month. Can anyone tell me if he is injured? I'll leave him here for now..he has the talent to win it when healthy..

6. Alex Miles – Heritage (128' 3") (143' 2") (133' 0") (135' 10") (131' 5")
West 4th place finisher. Has thrown over 140 once and 130 four times.

7. Jeffrey Rogers – LR Catholic (129' 9") (131' 0") (126' 5") (125' 11") (122' 11") (136' 5")
East-Central 3rd place finisher. Has thrown over 130 two times

8. Heath Pledger – Cabot (130' 3") (113' 11.75") (117' 3") (124' 10") (132' 8")

200 meter dash

1. Kavin Alexander – North Little Rock (22.61) (22.48) (22.42) (22.21)
East-Central champ. Has ran sub 22.5 three times.

2. Chase Lamers – Rogers (22.46) (22.76) (22.38) (22.74) (22.25)
West champ. Has ran sub 22.5 three times.

3. Adrian Tucker – LR Central (22.64) (22.35) (22.76) (22.21)
East-Central runner up. Has run sub 22.50 twice. These first few runners are hard to separate.

4. Tre James – LR Central (22.59) (22.49) (23.20) (22.33) (22.80)
Did not run the final at conference. Has ran sub 22.50 twice. The only thing that separates him and Sain-Thomas is his best time is faster.

5. Sain-Thomas Mathew – Har-Ber (22.70) (22.90) (22.36) (22.73) (22.49)
West runner up. Has run sub 22.50 twice.

6. Anthony Louden – North Little Rock (22.77) (22.54)
East-Central 3rd place finisher. Not much sample to work with, but he has ran very fast the few times he's ran it.

7. Daniel Weston – FS Northside (22.56) (23.54) (22.59) (22.82)
East-Central 4th place finisher. Has ran sub 22.60 twice.

8. Joey Saucier – Heritage (23.55) (22.91) (23.14) (22.59) (22.89)
West 4th place finisher. This was a hard choice to put him above Winn from Bryant here, but Saucier has a lot to run for.

Shot Put

1. David Price – FS Southside (53' 1.75") (54' 0.5") (52' 2.5")
Did not throw at conference. Like I said in the discus throw projection, I HOPE he throws because if he doesn't throw, my projections for Southside will be way off. Has thrown over 52 feet three times, though.

2. Andarious Jones – FS Northside (48' 5.5") (49' 1") (50' 0.75") (49' 6") (47' 9") (50' 5.5")
East-Central champion. Has thrown over 50 feet twie and over 49 feet four times.

3. Marcus Lindsey – North Little Rock (45' 5") (49' 6") (49' 4") (46' 5.5") (50' 3.5") (46' 11")
East-Central runner up. Has thrown over 50 feet once and over 49 feet three times.

4. Josh Frazier – Har-Ber (43' 9.5") (42' 5") (45' 8") (46' 11") (44' 1") (50' 0")
West champ. The football standout has steadily improved throughout the season, thrown over 50 feet once and over 45 feet three times.

5. Blake Young – Fayetteville (49' 7")
West runner up. Just a freshmen so only have the one throw recorded, but 49 feet is legit. I'll take my chances on him.

6. Jarvis Cooper – West Memphis (47' 6") (46' 6")
East-Central 4th place finisher. Not a lot to go on, but seems to be a consistent 47 foot thrower

7. Brooks Ellis – Fayetteville (45' 9") (43' 3.5") (46' 9") (46' 7")
West 3rd place finisher. The soon to be Razorback football player has thrown over 45 feet three times.

8. Brannon Kotch – Conway (46' 4") (45' 5") (44' 1") (43' 3.75") (46' 0") (46' 2")
East-Central 5th place finisher. Could easily finish higher with his consistency. Has thrown over 45 feet four times.

400 meter dash

1. Sain-Thomas Mathew – Har-Ber (51.05) (48.86) (49.61) (50.47)
West champ. Has run sub 50 twice and sub 49 once.

2. John Winn – Bryant (51.29) (50.80) (50.19)
West runner up. Has run sub 50.5 once.

3. Aaron Featherston – Har-Ber (50.88) (50.55) (50.41)
West 3rd place finisher. Has ran sub 50.5 once.

4. Tre Boyd – Fayetteville (50.68) (50.93) (51.04)
West 4th place finisher. Has run sub 51 twice.

5. Timothy Curry – North Little Rock (52.70) (53.17) (51.49) (53.17) (51.84) (51.05)
East-Central Champ. Has run sub 52 three times.

6. Hunter Smithpeters – Bentonville (51.59) (51.28) (51.90) (51.51)
West 5th place finisher. Has run sub 52 four times. Curry's top two times are better than Smithpeter's, though.

7. Shawn Hamidullah – Heritage (51.98) (52.94) (51.58)
West 6th place finisher. Has run sub 52 twice.

8. Jay Glidewell – FS Southside (52.15) (52.06) (52.96) (51.79)
East-Central 4th place finisher. Has run sub 53 four times and sub 52 once. Although he was 4th at conference, I give him the nod over Nichols and Onyekwelu because of consistency.

2. Nate Gneiting – Bentonville (44' 1") (45' 6") (44' 11") (45' 8.75") (43' 10")

3. Brandon Workman – Rogers (42' 9") (42' 5.5") (45' 5.5") (44' 2")
West champ. Has jumped over 44 feet twice and over 45 feet once.

West runner up. Has umped over 43 feet four times and over 44 feet once.

West 4th place finisher. Has jumped over 43 feet twice.

7. Daniel Spickes – Heritage (41' 5.5") (44' 6.5")

Just a note on the distance races for 7A: Little Rock Catholic has many, many good distance runners and have qualified many runners in the 800 and 1600 this year. I do not know who will run what event, so I will assume anyone who qualified is going to run.

800 meter run

1. Brendan Taylor – LR Catholic (1:57.41)
Did not run at conference. Only ran the 800 at once. Like I said in the note above, there's no telling if he'll run this event at state or not, but if he does, he has the ability to win it.

2. Colin O'Mara – LR Catholic (1:58.99)
Did not run at conference. Once again, another Catholic athlete where we don't know what he'll run. You'll notice I'm pretty much going with the fastest PRs to sort these out because of the confusion.

3. Dino Andrade – Har-Ber (2:01.63) (1:58.58) (2:03.16) (2:00.92)
West champ. Finally someone who has run the 800 more than once this year. Has ran under 2:00 once and under 2:01 twice.

4. Noah Findlay – LR Catholic (1:59.69) (1:59.16)
East-Central champ. Why do I have Andrade ahead of Findlay? Simply because he has the better PR.

5. Jacob Shiohira – Bentonville (2:02.48) (1:59.37) (2:00.14)
Did not run at conference. Not sure if plans on running the 800 and 1600 or not, but if he does, I still think he can finish this high. Sub 2:01 twice.

6. Gabe Lodge – LR Catholic (2:00.06)
Did not run at conference. 2:00.06 for your only run is very impressive, still.

7. Drew Rogers – Heritage (2:08.56) (2:04.17) (2:02.32)
West runner up. Seems to be hitting his stride at the right time.

8. Alex Battaglia – Bentonville (2:03.77) (2:02.66) (2:03.02)
West 6th place finisher. Didn't run super well at conference, but he's the only runner left who has run consistently around 2:02-2:03

3200 meter run

1. Dino Andrade – Har-Ber (10:02.20) (11:06.73) (9:46.02)
West champ. Has the fastest time in 7A this year. Is qualified for the 800 and 1600 also, but did it at conference and still won.

2. Austin Salazar – Rogers (9:59.88) (9:50.98) (9:53.34)
West 3rd place finisher. Has ran sub 10 three times. Qualified for the 1600, but did it at conference

3. Taylor Bryant – Rogers (10:10.62) (9:51.29) (10:00.51) (9:52.86)
West runner up. Has ran sub 10:00 twice, both times in the low 9:50s. This is his only event.

4. Austin Hunt – Bentonville (10:17.35) (9:54.18) (9:53.52)
West 4th place finisher. Has ran sub 10 twice and both times in the low 9:50s. This is his only event.

5. Jacob Shiohira – Bentonville (9:47.43)
Didn't run at conference. Qualified for the 1600 and 800 too, which is why I'm putting him here, because I don't know if he will run this.

6. Ian Smith – Rogers (9:57.32) (10:14.96) (9:57.23)
West 6th place finisher. Has ran sub 10 twice.

7. Jake Mankin – Rogers (10:19.19) (10:16.21) (10:22.16) (9:56.48)
West 5th place finisher. Has ran sub 10 once.

8. Brendan Taylor – LR Catholic (10:07.56)
East-Central champ. Has the ability to finish much higher, but he is qualified to run the 1600 and 800 and he hasn't done that all year, so I'm not sure which events he'll run and how he'll handle it when he runs them.

High Jump

1. Forrest Johnson – Heritage (5' 10") (6' 5") (5' 10") (6' 5")
West champ. Has jumped over 6' 5" twice, which are the two best jumps in 7A this year. His 5' 10" jumps put a damper on that, though.

2. Andrew Pinter – Fayetteville (6' 0") (6' 3") (6' 0") (6' 3") (6' 4") (6' 4")
West runner up. Easily the best consistent jumper in 7A. Could beat Johnson, but he did lose to him at conference.

3. Sain-Thomas Mathew – Har-Ber (6' 0") (5' 11") (6' 2") (6' 2")
3rd place finisher in the West. Has been consistent all year and seems to be getting better at it.

4. Alex Miles – Heritage (5' 10") (6' 3") (6' 0")
West 4th place finisher. Miles does so many field events, it's not even funny. His team will need points from him here for sure to win a state title.

5. Jordan Patrick – Bentonville (5' 10") (6' 0") (6' 2") (6' 3") (5' 8") (6' 0") (5' 10")
West 6th place finisher. If he can replicate his 6' 2" and 6' 3" jumps, he'll place high.

6. Jerrell Credit – Conway (5' 8") (5' 9") (6' 0")
East-Central champ. This may be a reach to some people, but that shows the inconsistency of high jumpers in 7A this year.

1. Jorge Gonzalez – Fayetteville (15.76) (15.68) (15.21) (15.03) (15.37) (15.23) (15.02)
West champ. Has been the most consistent hurdler all season. Has ran in the low 15s multiple times.

2. Deion Jones – Heritage (15.99) (15.62) (15.33) (15.52) (15.57) (15.17)

3. Jerrell Credit – Conway (15.68) (17.09) (15.01) (15.22)
East-Central champ. Could easily win this, but I don't have enough of a sample size to say he will for sure.

4. Rodney Jones – LR Central (15.74) (15.45) (15.54) (15.54) (15.28)
East-Central runner up. Ran a PR at conference. Seems to be a mid 15 guy, but looks poised to be a low 15 guy.

5. Brad Agee – North Little Rock (15.94) (16.85) (15.69) (15.48)
East-Central 3rd lace finisher. Had a good PR at conference also. Tough to tell what he'll do with so many varying times.

6. Spencer Sullivan – Bryant (15.46) (16.21) (15.78) (15.57)
West 3rd place finisher. Seems to be a mid 15 guy.

I just saw the start lists for the 7a state meet and it looks like LR Catholic isn't entering near as much runners as I thought they would, even though they are qualified. Findlay is only running the 800 and Taylor is only running the 3200.

I'm only saying this because it changes the outlook of the state meet quite a bit and so I don't lose too much credibility. Just doing a quick re crunch of the numbers, it may come down to the 4 x 4 between North Little Rock and Heritage for the state title, advantage: North Little Rock.

Bentonville has a slight chance at winning if everything goes right for them.

Two questions.
1)Are the times for the 7A state meet in the 4x400 correct on VarVee?
2)How do they pick who goes to the meet of champs?

First question — Those times are correct. I went back and checked on it to make sure they were.
Second question — Each state champion in each classfication, then the five best non-winning performances in any class.
