Marshal is experienced but not much depth.
Valley is young with lots of talent.

Just for curiosity, Region 1&4 and 2&3 are paired first round of state.

Lamar will get beat when they meet a team with athleticism on defense to shut them down. Mcgehee or someone from east Arkansas will beat them at state.

if it  happens it will be a disciplined team with great ball movement and shooters. Like a Charleston that's the match up that will haunt us.  But I think this last loss will MOTIVATE THEM! WARRIOR NATION!

All that sun has gone to your head. Order another pitcher of margaritas, lie back and watch the show. Be sure and get me a glass. Yeehaw dude it's playoff time!

Looks like they agree with me too... I'll take the Seminoles or Mcgehee over Lamar. Throw in Charleston to beat Lamar in the postseason when the games matter more too.

A well coached small ball team will be the one that knocks off Lamar. Paris had the blueprint, but they lost their heads

I agree! The Owls or Noles would beat Lamar! Osceola finished 23-6 overall. Only one loss since NEA tournament, 13-1 in conference!

My bad, 15-1 in conference!

McGehee lost a key starter to a broken collarbone. Out 3 months.

I see a lot of confidence brewing from some of you. All because Lamar lost a meaningless game. Lol

Lamar should win it all
Im not saying the will, but they have a shot at it. Any team that beats them I will congratulate and wish them luck. Hope they don't lose though.

neds

I think there are 5 or 6 teams this year that could win it. I don't see a clear favorite.

BigMan15

Exactly this year is the first year in a while where there's no clear favorite. It makes for some good chatter throughout the next three weeks.

NeaBaller21

If you don't throw Riverside around in the mix then you're gonna surprised

MaxPreps teams with best chance to win 3A state:

        School /Overall/ Conf/Rating/
1   Episcopal (Little Rock, AR)     18-7   12-3      15.0   7.2
2   Osceola (AR)   16-6   11-0   15.0   7.6
3   Lamar (AR)   21-5   5-3   13.5   2.0
4   McGehee (AR)   21-2   9-1   13.1   -1.8
5   Riverside (Lake City, AR)   24-9   8-1   12.3   3.5
6   Harding Academy (Searcy, AR)   18-7   14-3   10.0   1.8
7   Jessieville (AR)   19-7   14-2   9.8   1.2
8   Paris (AR)   18-7   9-3   9.7   1.3
9   Tuckerman (AR)   22-9   12-5   8.8   1.2
10   Perryville (AR)   18-8   10-5   8.7   2.4

Note the schedule strength of Episcopal and Osceola vs. the rest of the field. Also, note the extremely low strength rating for McGehee, which could explain why the drop them to 4th despite such a good record.

I'm surprised to see HA so high on the list. I've seen them play twice and they failed to impress. Note that they're 3 places higher than Tuckerman who beat them twice.

BigMan15

Would be nice to see Charleston up there!

If you look at the last month of the season, I would say Osceola is the favorite.  All they have done is win and against some good teams.

I'm sure Chucktown's won-loss ratio kept them off the list. However, I suspect they will be a tough out for anyone they face.
