I'm a senior in high school and looking to play d1 football for a-state as a walk-on. Just wondering if there is any special camp or something I need to take part in, other than just showing up on the field on tryout day or however it works.

Have you went to any of their combines to meet the staff?

No, but I emailed the head coach.

Get their camp schedule and go to some.  At least you can meet them and they can get your times.

Have you sent them any film if they still even do that?

Our kids use Hudl to show case themselves on film.  Also go to their Athletic Websites and sign up for camps this summer.

They still do it. Now, though, it's a link to a YouTube video.

Email these days is so unpredictable.  Pick up the phone and call .... If you want to stand out..

Coaches get hundreds, into the thousands of e-mails from players who think they have what it takes. Make some phone calls, as suggested previously.

One sure fire way is to go to a camp they host that the coaches run.

Walking on is a very difficult process at a D-1 school.  Be prepared for the worst,  if your HS coach can make some calls to help you be an INVITED walk on, it will help your cause tremendously.
