Blue is the colour, football is the game. We're all together, and winning is our aim. So cheer us on through the sun and rain. 'Cause Chelsea, Chelsea is our name. Come to the she'd and we'll welcome you. Wear your blue and see us through. Sing loud and clear until the game is done. Sing Chelsea everyone!!! CHELSEA! CHELSEA!

The FA Cup this weekend too. Chelsea is involved in the big one against Man U..... I will take Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, and Manchester City to advance to set up quite the semifinal matchups.

I seriously thought Barcelona was going to pull the miracle and come back as they got up 3-0 quick on PSG and needed just one more goal to go 4-4 on aggregate and tie it up. Edison Cavani scored in the 61st minute to make it 3-1 this match and surely send Barcelona packing back to La Liga only.

Barcelona scored with 30 seconds left in the allotted 5 minutes of stoppage time to win 6-1.... PSG was moment's away from advancing 5-5 on the lone away goal.... WOW

Anyone been to an MLS game? I just bought my first tickets ever to a pro soccer game to Sporting KC vs San Jose in 8 days. I was going to go tomorrow, but Missouri is being blanketed with snow so the road trip was delayed to next weekend.

They always seem to know how to get a couple places higher in the league than they should.... great overachievers. Was that at Bournemouth?

West Ham stinks at their "new" stadium.... Bournemouth needed that cause it got them to 30 points and pretty safe now out of relegation. I want the three teams that are down right now to stay. I like Crystal Palace, Swansea City, and Bournemouth too much and do not want to see them relegated.

Barcelona were brought back to earth after their remarkable, yet controversial, Champions League victory over Paris St Germain as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat at lowly Deportivo La Coruna in La Liga on Sunday.

Lots of great stories in the FA Cup this season, but at the business end, four big teams will be in the semis.  It will be Arsenal, Man City, Spurs and the winner of Chelsea vs. Man Utd.

That's great news for Everton because if they hold 7th, that will mean European football for the Toffees in 17-18.

I'd love to see them make a run in the Europa League next year and I think they could. I only imagine they will be a little better next year. There is a rumor that Koeman wants to dish out whatever money needed to bring Sigurdsson over from Swansea in the summer. Lukaku would be scary with Sigurdsson's dishing out goals to him. Even if they don't get him it is looking up for Everton.

Chelsea and Man U have just kicked off at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup.... I'll take Chelsea 1-0 in their standard grind it out matches. Plus, Man U already struggles putting goals in the back of the net.

There are also rumors that Barcelona may want Koeman as a manager.  I hope he stays.

If they can pry Sigurdsson loose from Swansea, Everton will be extremely dangerous next season.

And it's now 1-0 Chelsea (Kante), with the added handicap that United are playing with 10 men after Ander Herrera was sent off.

If this Man City score stays like it is, the only English team that will be in the quarterfinals of the Champions League will be...

LEICESTER CITY.

That is just embarrassing for Man City to give up 3 goals twice to Monaco... how sad. I think the quarterfinal draw is soon to see Leicester City's fate.

Juventus has already said they want no part of the Foxes.

I guarantee you no one saw that coming two years ago when LC were in last place in the PL.

I believe that they will both stay up at this point.

On that subject, I don't think Sunderland will escape the drop for the umpteenth season in a row.  The Black Cats are in deep trouble.

My first MLS experience was awesome. They have great fans up in Kansas City. They escaped with a 2-1 win over San Jose. The Earthquakes tried to end it at a draw, but the KC goalie made a spectacular save with barely any time left in stoppage time and we all went wild and sent the sell out crowd home happy.

I desperately want to see Palace and Swansea stay up in the EPL... I want to see Hull City, Middlesbrough, and Sunderland be the three dropped from the Premier League.

I hate the random draws... Bayern and Real Madrid should not be playing. Neither should Barcelona and Juventus. Those are the top 4 teams. Atletico Madrid seems to be stout however in a two game aggregate format always though.

Atleti cannot become complacent against LC like Sevilla did.  Those Foxes have some bite in them lately!

I like Bayern to win it all.  They are playing lights out both in the CL and domestically.  The only domestic team to take points from them twice this season so far is 4th-place 1899 Hoffenheim, who drew with them home and away.  Their only loss was to Dortmund away.

Derry City midfielder and captain, Ryan McBride, has suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. He was just 27 years old.

A famous quote of McBride's: "Other footballers have dreams of going across the water and playing for Man United and Celtic, but my dream as a boy was to play for Derry City and that came true."

May he rest in peace.

I am surprised that he landed there.... Not that he landed in the MLS, but in Chicago. They are not a major team and not exactly the best fan support for their club team in that city.

Out of that 2nd list which of those clubs have fell the worst. Have any of those teams fell to League Two or even lower currently today? The majority of that list looks like they sit in the Championship this season.

Charlton Athletic (3rd Tier)
Coventry City (3rd Tier)
Oldham Athletic (3rd Tier)
Portsmouth (4th Tier)
Sheffield United (3rd Tier)

If we look back all-time, long before the Premier League was around, the team that has fallen farthest* from the Top Flight is Glossop North End. The Hillmen made Top Flight just once in their history, 1899-1900, and only stayed for one season. They were relegated after finishing bottom of the table. Currently, they are in the Northern Premier League Division One North, which is the 8th level of English soccer.

*Based on quick research.  Perhaps someone knows of another club that has fallen farther, but I don't think there is.

There was an Accrington F.C. that was in the First Division from 1888-1893.  They went out of business in 1896.  Their successor team is Accrington Stanley, which is currently in the 4th tier.

As far as Promotion goes, Newcastle United is in good shape to return to the PL, and Brighton & Hove Albion, just one point behind them, appear likely to make their Premier League debut in 2017/18.

All really good stuff. I am enjoying learning more and more on the history of English football and all leagues world wide for that matter. I like seeing geographically where EPL clubs fall. Like how many are London based, Midlands, south coast, Welsh clubs, etc and I know one season there was a total of 7 London clubs..... And I hope Brighton does come in. I think they could be a lot like Burnley this year if they come into the EPL.

I got curious and decided to check who has won the most championships in the Premier League/First Division.  Here are the top 10, with the year they last won:

Manchester United 20 (last in 2012-13)
Liverpool 18 (1989-90)
Arsenal 13 (2003-04)
Everton 9 (1986-87)
Aston Villa 7 (1980-81)
Sunderland 6 (1935-36)
Chelsea 5 (2014-15)
Manchester City 4 (2013-14)
Newcastle United 4 (1926-27)
Sheffield Wednesday 4 (1929-30)

I wish I could have been alive for when the city of Liverpool was king....
