The 5A West track meet is going on right now. I was not able to attend, but sevenof400 is graciously sending me great updates.

But I do want to stress how unofficial any results I put up are. A track meet is like a carnival and seven is trying to update many events at once so nothing is official here.

Anyways:

Triple Jump
Alma - 2nd and 3rd Make that 4th and 5th
Vilonia - 8th Make that no place

High Jump
Vilonia looks to be 1st and 3rd and their third guy could be anywhere from 4th-6th place.
Alma is 2nd and their 2nd guy could be 7th/8th or not even placed.

Alma - 4th and 5th
Vilonia - No point

High Jump
Alma - 2nd
Vilonia - 1st, 3rd, 4th (3 way tie)

Shot Put
Alma - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th
Vilonia - 7th, 8th

Morrilton was one of them. Not sure of the others. Greenbrier had a guy over 41 this year, so maybe him.

I've heard the shot put WINNING THROW was 45' 6". I've heard there were bad conditions, though. Not sure what happened.

Vilonia 1st in 4 x 8, Alma 2nd.


On another interesting note: somehow Alma's girls upset Vilonia's girls in the 4 x 8. Not sure what happened there.

Alma qualifies 1 in the 100, Vilonia none

Well running events are underway. Long jump, discus throw, and pole vault are also in progress.

In those field events I haven't heard too much...

I've heard Alma has 4 finalists and Vilonia has 3 in the discus throw.

I've heard bad things for Alma in PV...including that Alma may get no points and Vilonia is 1,2,3. That's unconfirmed, though.

Haven't heard anything on long jump yet.

In the 110 hurdles, sevenof400 thinks that Alma went 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and Vilonia got 6th. Vilonia supposedly had 2 hurdlers in the final, though, so he may have missed a Vilonia runner.

In the 100, Alma's guy got 8th. He had just finished winning the 110 hurdles.

Dequeen ran away with the 4x8.. Magnolia got a distant 2nd.. Cfv placed 3 in top 4 in 100.. They are running the 1600 now..

That 3200 result helps Vilonia tremendously because now Vilonia has 5 runners in the 3200 at state.

Vilonia girls won conference by the way. Ran away with it.

Alma wins conference.

Vilonia boys had a tornado rip apart their town and went out and competed today. Nothing to be ashamed of. Maybe they'll have the reverse of 2011 happen. Lose conference but win state.

Magnolia wins the 4x1 in 44.. Also win the 110s.. Placed 3rd in 1600.. Not getting too much on Cfv and Dequeen

Both Magnolia boys and girls won conference.. This state meet next week is going to be interesting.. I can't think of a more wide open state meet.. The key might be how many people Vilonia can place in the 3200 and Camden in the TJ

5A West is on Direct.. I know you are using Varvee,  but it is there to look at.. Nothing really jumps out to me other than Vilonia HJ and Alma 110s and 300s.. 9:00 4x8 for Alma? It has been a long time since I have seen that
