I think PARIS will win all of 3A girls track and for sure in top 2-3. GREAT sophomore talent. The 440 relay team broke the Paris record by TWO seconds today and the sophomore gal won the 200 and 100m. Scratch the #7 preseason girls ranking for Paris and put them at #3 at least!! :D
Now that track meets have started back up, these posts will no longer be Pre-Season rankings. They will be actual performances from this track season. A few notes.
BOLDED - Means automatically qualified for state
A "w" at the end of a performance - Means that the wind assistance was not legal and can't count towards record purposes and qualifying purposes.

You are correct. In my day I won conference and runnerup in State in the 440 yard dash, now called a "run" and 400 meters. There is a difference of about 1.5 yards I think. In college my coach said to Sprint 110 yards, run 220 yards and sprint in last 110 yards, just opposite what my HS coach said for 3 years. I lowered my 400m time down to 49.4 in my first race in college whereas best in HS was 50.5. Even my 220 (200m) time went down to 22.7 with the "new way" of running the curve. So, yep, I am old!!! LOl ;D
The Paris sophomore is the BEST female runner in Paris history, bar none. They should win 3A relay races and she should be in top 2-3 in 100 and 200 individual races. Unfortunately Paris has no real good field event athletes on the girls side of things. Too bad they cancelled the Paris Invitational yesterday for Senior High due to extremely cold weather and not wanting to "strain" any muscles in running events. ;)
I have heard of the young girl track athlete who moved to Paris recently. Great for 3A track meet expectations on what she can do, AND she has two MORE years after this one! They say her 100 and 200 times will rival 6A and 7A girl track stars. TU for post!

Paris' great sophomore girl runner : 100 meters @ 12.12, 200 meters 25.25.. ;D
4x100 Paris girls =50.51 ;D
one girl, think a Junior has high jumped 5.0 and I think long jumped 16'5"
Unfortunately no real field event good distances, so overall team scores will be down from last year I think. I believe the best girl's 400 meters is about 1.02.88.
Paris will likely win district as a team and place top 3 in the 3A State Meet. But do think our sophomore will WIN 100 and 200m in State and team will be 1st in 4X100 relay at State. Just wait til next year! Even better.

Hats off to Prescott boys and Genoa girls for winning 3A state championships last night!!! 3 in a row for Genoa girls and 3 out of the last 6 for Prescott boys!!!

Congrats to our Kid Flash, Carderick CJ Johnson, from Junction City for winning 1st Place in the 100m Dash, 200m Dash, and the Long Jump, as well as 2nd Place in the Tripple Jump. He also received the boys individual High Point recognition.
