One of the reasons I like FF so much is you guys post so fast the results of all meets and games and in great detail.

Thanks Eddie!

MHSGrad

What a meet!! .. the times would have been a lot faster without a 20 mph or so head wind ... it was miserable

sevenof400

Eddie,

I'll add my thanks as well.   Where did you get the meet results?

ricepig

They were in todays Jonesboro Sun.

I was going to ask you about wind. I knew it had to be terrible for the 100m to not break 11 sec.

MHSGrad

It was terrible man.. It just shows the 2 01 and 2 02 in the 800.. and the sub 50s in the 400 could have been a lot faster. It added about .75 secs to the 110s as well... Watching our JR throw the 175.. and everyone freaking out was amazing.. Watching him step up there on the next throw and throw 170 was even more amazing lol.. This sport is so addicting lol

AB™

THe headwind and the fact they moved things along so fast the last part of th meed really kiled some times.  Some kids had to run the 1600 then turn around and run the not even 45 minutes later.  Then some of those kids had to run the 3200 a little bit later.  Why Arkansas won't have a two day state track meet is beyond me.  You're really killing times for the kids that have to run the 1600, 800, and 3200.

The 11.11 time for Orlando in the 100 was that slow ONLY because of the wind.  A kid that's been running 10.6's and 10.7s all year doesn't just run a 11.1 because he's "off".  I had counted 6 or 7 kids that had broke 11s in the 100 this year, so it really says something about the strong wind when not one of them breaks 11s at state.

I didn't get to see it, but I'm hearing different things about his 175.  How much of an effect did the wind have on it?

MHSGrad

Not near as much as the rumors are saying.. It was actually a terrible throw.. it was turned on it's side half way through and still chunked it that far!.. the 170, however, had no help from the wind..

If Alma makes the 4x8 for the MOC, are they going to run it?

AB™

They haven't the last two years so I kind of doubt it.  They haven't the last two years and I'd be surprised if that time is fast enough.  I really don't know, though.

MHSGrad

7A had a BAD 4x8 race.. and Alma will prolly be in.. as the 4th fastest outside time.. and Magnolia being the 5th... depending on what Sheridan does and if Heber/Nashville/Waldron can have 2 of them run under our times

AB™

I'm not all that happy with the 4x8 showing yesterday so I'd like to see them ahve a shot a a little redemption.  Instead of being what I figured would be a 2:00-2:02 1st leg was a 2:06.  Our third leg is just inexperienced;  he ran a strong first lap, but just put out too much too early, and didn't have enough to stay up with Vilonia and Beebe the last 150m of his leg.

AB™

I looked back at the last seven state track meets to see how close ALma and Magnolia have been and to see their dominance.  Magnolia hasn't really had a "down" year save 2004.  Alma has had two "down" years, 2006 and 2010.
