Well considering that the 7th and 8th graders at Carlisle only practice for 45 minutes per day it might be hard to win and build a program.

That's no good.
That is because jr high athletics is 1st period. they have been practicing plenty leading up to school starting. And I'm sure they will be practicing more than 45 minutes. He has the 9th graders going against the sr high right now for some quick lessons and evaluation. People aren't used to change
They are practicing longer than 45 mins a day. But if everybody wants to go ahead and count them out....
It's called he needs the 9th graders to come to practice because he is at like 18-19 players which is good for the 9th graders but not good for the younger kids.

Sacrificing the jr high for maybe some kind of benefits for the sr high
Sounds like a guy who doesn't plan on being here long
LOL
Jr. High practices together from 7:15 until 1st period athletics is over. WELL OVER 45 minutes. And the 9th graders go to HS practice in afternoons to help and get evaluated if move ups are required. Also, it is great experience for when they move up after jr high is over.
sounds like a coach that plans to be here for a while, and get his alma mater back on track where it should be.

Is there not a limit on much they can practice each week?
So brinkley doesn't have enough jr high players to field a team and will only play 7th grade or jr. Jr varsity games. Marvel is struggling as well.
We replaced brinkley with riverview and marvel with little rock Parkview.

The starters were pulled with 3 minutes left in the 2nd quarter I think the score was 38-0, Hazen and Clarendon coaches played the younger kids the remaining of the game after that. good experience for both sides.
In the des arc - McCrory game last night, des arc had the ball for 14+ of the 16 minutes in the 2nd half.

So are we going to defend Uhiren today for coaching over Coach Roberson? For going for it on 4th and 4 from his own 30 yard line or for not knowing what down it was at the end of the game? He sent his offense on the field when Des Arc had the ball ready to kneel on it. He had no clue last night.

That looks impressive, but not so sure in 7th grade. I've seen several 7th grade games this season where 30+ points were scored per quarter. Some coaches seem to want to do that, where many coaches put the 2 and 3's in 1st quarter, as it should be. Of course if your team is that dominant, the only problem it reduces game play time for the 1's which some may argue isn't needed.

That is exactly what Hazen's Coach did, 7th grade played when it was 24-0 with 3:30 left in the 1st quarter. He let the starters play one more offensive series right before halftime and then the 7th took it the rest of the way.

Yeah, when I did the math it's only 36 points/game. When I first saw 182 I overestimated what he must be putting up on the board. Seems about what most of the dominant 7th grade teams are scoring.
Looks like we get to go to Carlisle the week.

Well I'm counting on Hazen Jr high team to get my revenge on last years Sr. high loss, I lost a bet with DA folks and had to buy supper for 3 at Dondie's while wearing one them Ugly green shirts, this year we bet the same on the Jr. game.

Will yall even be able to field a sr team? I mean, I don't think they let them play high school football once they turn 21.

yea I think it was 38-0 at the end of the 1st, most of the scoring came on defense tonight, 3 interceptions returned for a TD and one fumble scoop and score. Why Augusta kept trying that same pass play beats me.

It looks like for Hazen to get some competition in 2A, they would have to drive South to England. It would be a nice drive down, but a sad drive home.

How old are they? They need to stay out of England because Kvon might break one of their hips, or require them to press their life alert.

Yep and they make the drive to Des Arc next week to take that bus and run y'all over with...Ill ask the coach not to turn the 13 year old loose on ya.

Lol, the will need a bus to make any yardage. Not worried about the 13 year old either. All 3 are going to get hit every play with or without the ball. You may have to drive their cars home from school for them. ;D
You gotta have the ball to score. You haven't seen ball control yet. Oh, and that little swing pass to the halfback, isn't gonna work.

I'd like to see it happen, because these games are boring!
I like seeing the little ones getting some playing time but I sure would like to watch a full 4 quarter fight for a win every now and then.

You will, next Thursday night at des arc. Get your popcorn ready. If Des Arc wins the coin toss, yall will be lucky to touch the ball in the first qt maybe even the whole half.
That's a good game plan but you only get four downs then punt..
You can move ball on Hazen. But you better protect it. They will take it from you.

We will get 2 or 3 yards every play and no punts.
The big question is how will hazen respond when they get behind? Well of course I forgot you have 2 grown men playing r.b. in jr high. The hazen redshirt program at its finest. ;D ;D ;D
Well if we hold you to two yards pick your still at 4th and 4. Your still a lil short...
But this is like a mute point, we will beat y'all by 30 Thursday night.. See ya then....
Des arc will win thursday night NO questions asked!!!

This sure would be a lot more fun to talk about if this was Sr. High Football. Lonoke is the only team so far to make the Jr. Hornet starters play at least 3 quarters before getting pulled. You are right this should be one the best jr high games in the state.

Yes it was a good game. Yea he has no quit in him.
I won my bet! Eat free at Dondie's, No doubt DA was ready for the fight. Ok now to criticize my little Hornets! I would just as soon as lose the game and let other kids play as I would sit there and watch Coach to keep allowing #21 and #22 being lazy.Yes I understand they are the stars of the team but this will carry over into Sr football and will be a cancer.
Number 21 played sick but he didn't want to let his team down so there is nothing lazy about him
Well I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feeling or even make Daddy mad, my hats off to him if he played under the weather, this is not the first game I have noticed this.
Hazen has double the talent on the team than DA(my opinion), what kept DA in the game is they play with heart and we walk around with no sense of urgency which allows them to stay close and in the game thru 3 quarters. Let me rephrase my earlier comment! We have a very talented Jr high team and no matter how lazy the whole team is they are still 8-0.
Old Scrapper im no ones dad lol...you do realize this is Jr. High. This young man plays his heart out for this team. And choose to stay in Hazen to play for the Hornets. So lets see how he looks in a few years and what he accomplishes :-\
I know he is an awesome player, there is no doubt that both of those kids are great ball players. And for 21 playing under the weather he did a good job. 22 looked to have a leg injury for most of the game also. And yes I realize this JUST Jr high football.

That's just plain irresponsible. Ok, let's expose everyone on the team and coaches so he can play this one game and in a week or so everyone is sick. Not smart.
I doubt he had the flu, I'm sure he wasn't feeling well tho.

Like I said I knew you would not agree. Hazen actually played one of the worst games of the year last night, sure DA's fired up little team caused some of it but it was mostly because the little hornets were just having a off night especially on defense.

Lol, you have lost what little bit of a mind you had.
For yalls sake, I hope your defense doesn't have an off night tonight.
Sr. High plays pretty good defense, only thing is we don't have enough offense to keep them from playing defense most of the night! I'm sure tonight will be ugly!
