With HWH (in) and Dollarway (out) it'll be interesting to see how the 8-4A will look next year.
Warren (once again) should be a step ahead of everyone else in the conference.
Dumas and Hamburg will probably battle it out for 2nd and 3rd.
I'd imagine that Star City, Monticello, HWH, and Crossett will battle it out for the 4 and 5 seeds.
So, here is my (way too early) predicted order of finish for the 8-4A in 2018.
1) Warren
2) Dumas
3) Hamburg
4) Monti
5) Star City
6) HWH
7) Crossett
8) Dewitt.

Crossett should be pretty good next year 6-4 possible. If we can steal a win against someone maybe they could shoot for 7-3. Depends on how well the Recievers and QB Improve in offseason most likely.

I pity the teams on Warren's schedule. This Jr. class is going to be out for blood.

Booneville vs Warren @ Malvern would be a fun start to the year. Win or lose bad, it'd be fun to watch.

Well, most wanted folks us to be in 8-4A anyway. But I wouldn't mind if they dropped DeWitt for a more competitive game before conference season. Doubtful that will happen though, that's a "good gate" game for both schools.

I wish Stuttgart would join. Would make for some epic conference games in the future.

I was hoping for the Birds to come on over. Would only have to worry about them every 6-7 years. All other times is a W in conference play.

For strictly personal reasons, I'm glad they're staying in the 2-4A. The travel is much better for me living in LR in the 2. The games and rivalries would probably be better in the 8 however. They could still move there someday...

KASH dba The Lumberjack

Warren has some big shoe to fill. Losing some dang good linemen.

ea cat

Dumas non conference schedule is White Hall week 1, McGehee week 2 and Lake Village week 3.

STUNNA

Former Warren and Dumas coach Alonzo Hampton has been hired by Florida State. Prettt cool. Was previously with Taggart at western Kentucky and Oregon.

I went to the "meet the dragons" dinner the other night and apparently the entire season hangs in the balance of beating the ricebirds. That was the only thing the coach talked about.  ::) Looks like another long year for the dragons...

He's just trying to ensure a big crowd for the first game. I guess it doesn't matter if they start to leave in the 3rd qtr...

Word on the street Coach Mcgraw really has those backs and the Bobcats looking strong.  I hope we can stay healthy and be a force in the 8-4a.

Is Dumas still playing power football or have they caved into the desire for spread??

I hear double wing.... Not sure if that's accurate...

Hope the coaches are successful because those towns seem to insist on a spread.
