Stole this from a 2A thread, thought it might bring up some interesting discussion here.

Maybe this will be interesting to talk about as we inch closer to basketball season. Who is the best multi-sport player in your schools history? Boy and girl who played multiple sports and excelled in both.

One of the best I've seen is Griffin Smith from SS, he EXCELLED at Track and Baseball.

At Concord:

Keith Cornett could scorch the net for 40+ any given night on the hardwood and fill it up quickly, go out and throw a perfect game on the baseball hump, and go and shoot a good round of golf. As a junior, he led Concord to the 1990 baseball state finals, hauling in All-State honors in both basketball and baseball. Went on to play basketball for North Ark (He's in the Hall of Fame there) and UT-Arlington, where he still holds the highest free throw percentage for one season in program history to this day. He is one of the best shooters, coaches, and all around individuals I know today.

Davis excelled in basketball, softball, cross country, and track, guiding the Lady Pirates basketball team to two state tournaments in 2017 and 2018 (first appearances in school history), as well three berths in softball state championship games in 2015, 2016, and 2018 (also firsts). Broke school record of All-State nods with six, three in basketball and three in softball. She is set to begin her freshman season at Lyon College for a good Lady Scots basketball program.

Jacob Roark, the state's all-time leader in three pointers made and second in points scored, who was a good cross country/track runner as well as a good baseball player. Four-time All-State in basketball, once in cross country, led Pirates to 2014 basketball state crown. Entering senior season at Florida College, where he earned All-American honors as a junior. Previously attended Harding University.

Luke Cornett remains one of the top golfers from our area, winning back-to-back individual state titles in the sport and the team title in 2012. Luke was a starting guard for the 2014 team that Roark played on, and usually locked down their opponent's best player. Went to play golf at CBC before transferring to Arkansas Tech, making a run to the NCAA Final Four in 2017 while being named All-Region. Another good baseball player as well.

This is a short list out of many here at Concord.

At West Side:

When it's all said and done, both Haley and Travis Gentry will be up there. The two siblings' parents were great athletes in their own right, with Amy guiding the Lady Eagles to a state championship victory over Guy in the 1995 finals.

Haley has seen success in basketball, golf, softball, cross country, and tennis, where since her freshman season last year, has torn up the basketball court and cross country circuit. She is the defending Class 1-2A XC individual state champion, and has already proven in 2018 she has what it takes to defend her crown. She is an All-State selection in golf and tennis, where the Lady Eagles placed second in state for golf. Look for her to make a lot of noise in round ball.

Travis has carried his own as well, doing well in basketball, cross country, tennis, and baseball. He is very well built, got moved up to senior high this season, and will pose many problems for teams in the coming years on the court. Heard that he is a great baseball player but haven't got to see him play yet.

The most impressive thing about them is what they've been able to accomplish so far being so young, with Haley being a sophomore and Travis being a freshman. West Side has some good years ahead of them with these two suiting up and serving as franchise type of players.
