Des Arc @ Hazen 10/24/14 week 8

Yes i know its a week early, but in week 7 Des Arc plays Marvell and Hazen plays Augusta, not much to talk about with either of those games. So on to the game of the week for week 8.

This game is most likely for the 6-2A conference crown. Both teams will MOST likely come in unbeaten in conference play, with the only loss between the 2 to MOST likely be Des Arc's loss to an unbeaten 3A Bald Knob. Most years you can throw out the records when these 2 teams meet, but this year will be special. Back in my days, this was the big rivalry game, these younger Hazen  guys want to say Carlisle is their rival now, but thats only cause Hazen wants to be like Carlisle in every way, not just football, so bad its pitiful.

I cant believe Hazen scheduled Des Arc as their homecoming opponent, awful risky if you ask me. Im sure we will use this as bulletin board material, as we all know most teams schedule cupcakes for homecoming.

I predict Hazen chokes on the Eagle "cupcake" and ruins their unbeaten season.

We had Carlisle 38-0 by half time when you played them they went for it on fourth down twice inside your 30 and turned it over which was stupid...you and Brinkley went back in fourth and you barely pulled it out we had them 43-0 at halftime..McCrory was driving down the field on you to score on you to win the ball game and Kennedy intercepted it in the end zone to save the game we dominated them 30-0...get real pickdaeagles...anyone with common sense has this one figured out...you won't score a point

You obviously haven't been around hazen - des arc games very long, if you had, you would know none of that matters. I bet your mom doesn't let you off the tit very often though.

You know as well as i do, whoever scheduled des arc as your homecoming opponent, must have had a brain fart or just thought des arc would be way down.

Don't think having DA for Homecoming was basically a have too case without having it right at the first of the season. Hazen only has Carlisle & DA as home games in the traditional part of the season when things are done like this. Last night was Senior night and also the knew ahead of time that the TV and radio crews were coming, just too much they thought going on, so the only option was the last home game against DA. I personally like having a "Real" game for Homecoming. That is the way is was done back in the day when I played.

And you are right, DA has everything to gain and Hazen has it all to lose. And when it come to these two teams playing, ANYTHING can happen!  That has been well shown in the past!

Several of us FF posters , Fence is included in that group, actually attend school with that dugout drancing lady... I was actually at that game when this event occur ... It was a sad day to be a Des Arc Alumi ... But that action has more to do with her DNA or lack of the right DNA then her regional living area....

Definitely nothing wrong with flying high but Hornets like to stay low to the ground. Let the Eagles fly way up there. I just hope it is a good game. The Hornets need a challenge before the playoffs start.

The Des Arc game is just as important to the Hornets as the Carlisle game. As far as Homecoming with Des Arc and senior night with Carlisle I think it's a great idea. To me that's what rivalries are all about! But hey I'm old fashioned!

Des Arc has beat Hazen the past 2 years, that should be reason enough to not overlook the Eagles. As far as making it to the playoffs and even the championship game, any team in the 2A should hope Junction City will still be on top simply because to be the man you have to beat the man.
