I'm sure this has been brought up before, but why not a European style table for standings?

Goal difference capped at +3 to -3
No pk shootouts for conference games.

Seems a lot simpler than our current tiebreaker system. Just wondering if anyone knows why we don't do it this way.

Because the AAA says so.  [shrug]  There's not really any other answer, AFAIK.  I'd rather see it that way, but good luck getting enough votes to change it.  Not enough schools care about soccer, and even among those that do, I doubt many ADs will support a change to a system they're likely not very familiar with.

Cause this is Merica.... You have to have a winner and a looser. Personally we should make it so that if you beat a team by 6 and achieve the mercy rule then you should win twice. Who cares about the little schools!
