You near a district that has closed down at anytime? I think two or three schools in NW Arkansas I can think of closed for like 2 days each.

Jacketman65

No, just a bunch of sick people around!

I got the shot and so far have avoided it.  Prayers sent for you.

To make it through the flu:

1. Hydrate with water/Gatorade.
2. Keep fever down with Tylenol and Advil alternating.
3. Don't get sedentary, get up and move every so often. Sedentary leads to mucus build up in your lungs aka pneumonia.
4. Rest.
5. Over the counter medicines like DayQuil/NyQuil are also awesome to substitute Tylenol and Advil with. Along with Mucinex.

That's how you will beat the flu.

Use hand sanitizer people! And wash those hands!!!!

If you have small children, make sure they have hand sanitizer in their backpacks.

Only wimps get the flu
Obviously you have gotten no smarter over the years - still stuck in the 5th grade I guess!  I certainly hope that you and yours avoid this illness since so many across this country have lost their lives to it.  I think that the count is 122 in Arkansas alone, men, women and yes -  children.
So before you start calling sick people wimps, just remember that it could effect you and your community.  There could also be good folks on this board who have lost loved ones!

Thanks!  Been a slow process, now it is the stomach issue!

cuckoobird

Obviously i was just poking fun because yes it's been a very serious issue across the nation flu shot or not.

Redwolves8526

Got it about a week ago and had it rough for about 4 days. I thought the Tamiflu they prescribed really helped shorten the symptoms

Jacketman65

I see where more schools have closed!

HorseFeathers

Haven't had the flu in my house..... But my 6 year old has had 4 rounds of strep throat. They took her tonsils out and she seems like a whole new kid right now.

Lions84

It is really bad this year. Prayers for everyone to stay well.

Jacketman65

I see that schools are still closing and that the death toll is at 140 now - Prayers for these families!
Me, it took 3 weeks and finally back at 100%  I saw in todays paper that the flu vaccine is only 25% effective, that seems pretty low to me.

cuckoobird

Flu vaccine is a farce. It only protects you from one strain and there are several different strains you can get

Lions84

Prayers sent for all those sick.

Jacketman65

I think that it is finally winding down after claiming nearly 200 lives here in the state.
Sorry to disappoint you Cuckoo ------------ BUT OLE JACKETMAN SURVIVED! :)

Lions84

Prayers sent my Cousins wife posted she got it again this morning.

Mulerider4Life

Lions84

Allergies. The yellow pollen filling the air and covering everything!
