CHG at Fordyce

Last time the Hornets played the Redbugs was in 2015.  Redbugs won big 39-6 if I remember correctly. 

What I've seen from the Hornets so far is a very emotional game at JC where we scored 50, but still let it get away.  Then last Friday, a very emotional Bearden team came in looking to beat their former coach and they almost did, but they let it get away. 

So CHG is 1-1 and Fordyce is 0-1 suffering a bad loss to Rison.  I'm predicting a Hornets win this Friday by two scores over the home team.  *Rison folks tell me what y'all saw.

Talked to a side judge next day after the game. He said first time he could remember Fordyce having so much difficulty getting plays in & running their offense. Lot's of 12 men in the huddle violations.

Fordyce is really low in numbers. Close first half, but Fordyce simple worn down in the second half. Rison is okay, but not that good. Lot's of linemen graduated last year.

CHG should win the game unless they beat themselves.

Fordyce was gassed by the end of the 1st quarter. They have a lack of discipline as well-CHG should have no problem winning this.

There is also no tackle box in high school. You will hear both of these screamed from someone's dad every Friday night and sometimes see 12 men in the huddle called.

They were winning......here's how it happened......
CHG stalls inside the 10 twice in the first half and ends up behind 28-16 at Fordyce with three minutes to go in the game.  Hornets score and go for two and don't make it......28-22 Redbugs.  Onside kick recovered by Fordyce with just under two minutes to go......all they gotta do is run the clock out.  FUMBLE on the play recovered by CHG!  Hornets score with 55 seconds to go and tie the game at 28.  Hornets called for some bogus excessive celebration and must go for two from the 17 yard line.  The 2 point conversion is good!  CHG leads 30-28.  Fordyce drives it to the Hornet 35 yard line and time expires.

Nice comeback win by all the Hornets!

Fordyce has some good athletes, they just don't have the depth. They started off fast against Rison but Rison wore them down and won by 28.

Rison must have made em mad because they played well in their home opener.  There are some big ole bugs over there.
