Lamar's Future

Well, our season is done for this year.   10-3 and a member of the Elite 8 is not too shabby for a team that was basically written off after week 8. Five different quarterbacks, people playing in positions they never thought of, and a few magic tricks made the last five weeks memorable for sure. 
I am a very small part of this program. I've been dubbed Team Mom by some of the seniors and I'll take that.  I'm just happy Doc lets me hang around on the sidelines and take pictures, encourage the players and save memories for these kids. 
Next year seems forever away.  I wish the best for the ten young men who played or in one case watched their last high school football game as a Lamar Warrior. In their three years, they have many more wins than losses, and have set the bar pretty darned high for their teammates next year.  But don't count next year's Warriors out of anything next year.

Little brother isn't playing basketball, but he plays baseball! I hope to make at least a few of those games this year

Great year Warriors.  Time to go to work.  this is the time we get better.  These incoming freshman have some potential but need to get in the weight room. We lose the Big Boys up front so I think our offense will evolve into something a little different next season.  Its going to be an exciting year.   With Hunter missing basketball and possibly all of baseball season now he can concentrate solely on football.    I look for the Warriors to be right back in the few elite teams next season.  Awesome game Prescott.  You have an overall strong team and i will come watch in a couple of weeks when you play in WMS.

IMO- Mayes- sophomore to be. He got some time after jr high season with the varsity and played well.  Mueller is another possibility in my eyes.

Lamar will have to replace all 5 offensive linemen plus TE( Kern).  Fb, both rbs. 

Returning starter Davenport and wr Sanderson. 

Yes Davenport is a good place to start.

Davenport returns with sack leader chase Holland, and pick leader Masterson.  Isaac Felkins at lb. 

That being said there are several ready to step up.  There is a bunch of weight room work to be done between now and then!

On paper it looks like there is no way we will match this season.  Then you look at the ones that habe been waiting their turn to be the #1 at their position.   I feel very good about it

It's a hard life. You people over there at Charleston and Booneville wouldn't understand. For example, in my senior year, I played in 3 homecomings not including my own. We won all 3 (but lost our own). Another funny story, all three of those teams had a lion for a mascot
