Francis Smhidt and glen rose were better than Anderson

Glen rose was 171-154 at Arkansas.

Mike is 151-86.

In the 7 years Schmidt was at Ark, there are conflicting records. One says 113-17 and one says 41-21-3. So who knows.

Wiki (FWIW) has Rose at 325-204 at Arkansas with a Final Four appearance.

I'd give you a link but I don't want to trigger any snowflakes who might be reading this thread.  ;D

Cj Jones was never going to be a starter at Arkansas..... I understand him leaving.
He was going to get serious minutes as far as MAs system goes and Hall was for sure starting

cuckoobird

Not to mention those coaches only played a 20-25 game season and several records wit 1-4 losses

Added a JUCO guy today.... Looks like mainly a 3 point shooter.... Most likely to fill what CJ Jones would have been off the bench. Maybe this guy actually plays defense?

Ctucker

Why is it that coach Anderson does not recruit these Arkansas kids until Kansas or somebody else offers them!

HorseFeathers

It kinda feels like he thinks the same way some fans feel...that they should be coming to him begging to be Razorbacks...

bdubyab60

I'm. It sure he's been late on many. But I'm not sure. He does have evey major recruit in Arkansas pretty much locked up through 2020, or seems that way.

He wasn't getting Monk or Allen, though he had to try. He did land Portis and Gafford. He will pretty much land very mid level guy there is in the state though.

But in recruiting I don't feel like we have any chance of landing a top 10 guy outside of Arkansas.

For a guy who doesn't get a lot of the top guys in the country.he sure does win a lot of games.🤔

151-86 at Arkansas.
361-184 as a head coach.

Picked 10th by the media at SEC days.... Gafford was picked preseason All First Team in the SEC. I predict we finish between 5th and 8th.

With the depth of the league, that would probably be good enough to dance this season.

I think so too. If we get to 10-8 in the league with just a generally decent non conference(let's say 2 or 3 at most losses in the non conference).... Then we will get in. Maybe even 9-9 does the job hopefully? I loved Macon and Barford, but Macon just was not physically capable of being a good defender. Barford was a really good defender, but only when he wanted to. I think MA will have this team at a high level defensively that we haven't seen in a few years which can get us back to the dance I hope.

I think that we have three freshmen who will be difference makers in the long run: Embery, Chaney, and Henderson all look like starters at some point or another and any of them could be like Gafford last year

thats not bad at all. He actually has to coach these players.i say if you give him all the players John calipari has had. he would have at least 4 rings.

So I saw today where the NBA and G League starting next year will have transitionary contracts of 125K for what they deem "elite players" coming from the high school game as a legit option for them to not play in college at all. Essentially this is to try and end the one and done player which this is obviously a good thing overall for every party involved. And in reality this will only impact about 5 to 15 guys a year who see themselves as a possible one and done or maybe a few guys here and there that see themselves as a two year at most player in college. At least they are getting paid something, and the NBA team isn't taking the biggest risk by giving an 18 year multi million not even knowing 100% if they will pan out. And now the college fan will be seeing most of their players for at least 2 years which is good for the fans and coaches too. I think this will level the playing field some as Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, and a couple others will have to rethink their recruiting and go back old school. They say by 2021 these will almost be like minor league baseball contracts from what I understand being on a G League team for one year, but under contract by the NBA team. I hope this pans out cause its good for all sides involved.

bdubyab60

Not sure it's gonna change much. Think I heard max contract $125k. The kid that started this investigation got $100k and wasn't even a one and done.

If you can make that kind of money and get the notariety of playing for a big college program or go to the G league and play to empty stands which are you going to do
