Led by one of the top running backs in the state Dennis Johnson (who already has scholarship offers from Arkansas and Tulsa), the Razorbacks look to return to Little Rock in December and defend their 6A state title. Texarkana averaged more than 35 points per game last and quarterback Bo Bigham returns as well with a talented trio of returning receivers. The line will be a question mark but a tough nonconference schedule that features North Little Rock, Texas High and Little Rock Central should them ready once they begin defense of their 6A-South title when they open at Little Rock Parkview on September 21. The defense pitched five shutouts last season and allowed only 9.5 points per game, but must find some help on the line. College prospects Fred Rose, Wesley Harris, Ke'Air Dennis and Renaldo Davis should help pick up the slack. Comments by coach: "Team speed will still be very good with 15 kids running under 4.7 in the 40, and 40 seniors, the largest senior class since I've been here. (We are) young in the offensive and defensive lines. We have our most talented group of young linemen since I've been at Arkansas High, but we're inexperienced. We have high expectations for the 2007 season. We return almost all of our sill positions from our state championship team."
