Other key players: LB Lucas Loving; DB Kendall Pinkney (5-10, 170, Jr.); DB Tyler Balloun (5-9, 170, Sr.); DT Blake Ellis. 2007 Outlook: First-year coach Josh Price took a hit before even coaching a game at Dardanelle with the transfer of University of Arkansas commitment Matt Hall to Russellville, but don't cry too much for Floyd, who was an all-state and all-star quarterback at Beebe, as the Sand Lizards still return four starters on the line. That should help the transition as Dardanelle breaks in a new quarterback. Defensively the Sand Lizards return seven starters who should help the Sand Lizards make it four straight playoff appearances. Comments by coach: "Passing game needs to improve dramatically so we can be more balanced on offense. On offense we return a majority of our lineman, but have to replace our skill positions. We should be big up front with some unproven skill spots that have to step up early. (On defense) we have eight returning starters from a team that gave up 14 points per game (in 2006). It is a defense with some speed and experience. Each position will have at least two years experience at it and some with three. These guys are going to hit you and play hard every play. Lack of depth at the linebacker position could be the only weakness. (On the conference race) Booneville is always the favorite, Clinton is well-coached and Clarksville has the best athletes in the conference. Should be an exciting conference race."
